It's a really nice game on the 360. As for the whole 360 60 FPS/PS3 30 FPS, I'm not really concerned about that, and if I was a PS3 owner I still wouldn't be. PS3 are still in their first generation games, and just like 360, the graphics will improve with the next generation. But after playing it on my 360, I must say it runs smoothly, is very fun, and looks amazing. However, it seems as if every player slaps their hands in butter before each play. The fumbling is ridiculous. I'm so excited about this final stretch of the year though. So many great games coming out (Assassin's Creed, Halo 3, Bio Shock, SSB: Brawl, Mario Galaxy, etc.)
Wow, do i sense some hate? The above poster is not the only one receiving those glitches. Its also been reported on other forums. And if your judging APF2K8 off of the demo, then you have no room to talk. APF2K8 plays just as well, if not better than Madden 08. If you can live without all the gimmicks and just want a game with pure realistic football gameplay, APF2K8 is the way to go. But honestly, it's all about preference. Madden gamers who've been playing it since back in the day are most definitely always gonna go with Madden. It's what they always played and what they are familiar with. Asking them to switch is like asking them to get new parents. Its a little different with 2K as they came late into the game. The majority of the 2K players are Madden converts so the "fan-boyism" is not the same as lots of them came from Madden. Ask anyone who played NFL 2K5 and they'll tell you that game was ahead of its time. From what I read in this thread, most of the people that disliked APF2K8 only played the demo, and that is not fair. You are trying to review a game based on a demo build while playing a small sample of games. Obviously it would not be cool if Madden was treated this way. But in all seriousness, who can hate on a game that consist of two Houston football legends, Warren Moon and Earl Cambell? Sorry guys but Moon/Cambell > NFL.
I actually thought 2K's All Pro Football was a pretty good football simulator. Like 2k's Basketball vs. Live, its like playing a simulator vs. an arcade game. I was a big Live and Madden supporter but thought the series (especially Live) has gone way down the past couple years. I think once 2K gets the NFL rights, I think they will give Madden a run for their money. Obviously Madden will always be the most popular game, but 2K's game play is way more realistic IMO.
I just got here in Thailand for $2.50. I had my Wii modded and picked 16 games for a grand total of 85 dollars.
360 version. soimproved i have played 3 games in 3 days now and i still havnt been UN-impressed yet. ive heard about the turnover problems from a number of people, but i have yet to come across a lot (knock on wood)... of course im still playing on lowly pro and not playing any one good. i do have a problem stopping the pass.
This is depressing. I play for two games with the Texans and I'm already sick of them. Talk about a boring team. In past years, I usually go a few years with the Texans before I play another team. For the interceptions problem, why don't you just use sliders? I always adjust my sliders after a few games to make things more realistic and balanced. Interceptions, on a default level, has always been ungodly high in Madden games for some reason, where AI linebackers can freaking intercept a pass better than your own receivers. I almost never visited game forums for Madden, so I've never heard of this "hurdle trick". Do you have to time it right or something? Because when I hurdle over people, I still get hit.
1. Yes the Texans are and have always been boring. Traditionally I would sim the entire 1st season then import the NCAA draft class to make things interesting by drafting Peterson, Young, etc... To the Texans. 2. The problem with interceptions isn't that the CPU picks you off too much. Its that the CPU throws interceptions at a ridiculous rate. It makes your starting defensive backfield look like hall of famers. 3. The hurdle glitch takes some practice. You kind have to get hit and keep tapping hurdle like a maniac. I never really tried it or got it down. Its no biggie to me. I simply find straight players online and refrain from using the glitch myself. At least its no as bad as WR direct from NCAA's of the past.
2. Can't you just move the sliders for Human interception rate to way low? Maybe it's because I never control DBs(crappy reflexes), but my own CPU-controled DBs rarely intercept passes. 3. Ah, so it's something that you have to *intentionally* trigger. In that case, I don't see the problem. I mean, there's already sliders and game levels which adjust the difficulty rating to one's liking. I don't see why people still need to resort to bugs. If you want a bunch of 70 yard TD runs, rookie + horrible tackling sliders will do the job quite nicely.
I dunno, was REALLY enjoying the game but all the turnovers are really depressing me. The amount of fumbles and the super-human INTs by the DBs and LBs are rediculous. On top of ALL the turnovers, 95% of them get returned for a TD. It's like the game is determined on which team's defense can score the most. There is so much to love about the game and I was REALLY getting into playing it this year, but I can't even get through a game without just turning the damn thing off after the 3-4 TO in the first half.
I can't wait for NBA 2K8 to come out. As Gilbet Said "Nah, I play 2K,that other one Live, is too fake" I really did not like the feel of All-Pro 2k8 and I am a HUGE fan of 2K5, It felt very last gen to me.
what defense do you guys use , when a player runs his quarterback all the way to the opposite sideline and then tosses back across field...its pissing me cuz ofcourse all the computers players want to follow the quarterback.....
I'm digging the Superstar mode on this game. I made myself a LT and I totally sucked it up at the combine and got a 52 rating, so i'm slow and weak and got drafted in Round 3. But after one year of playing, practicing, and working out, I'm a 99 and just destroy everyone. You just play from your position and it sims the rest. I get about 10 pancakes a game and I'm on my way to the Pro Bowl and hopefully a fat contract extension. I tried being a RB or QB but it's just too hard in my opinion with the weird camera angles. As an OL you see everything and they don't call illegal man downfield so on pass plays I just take off down field and plow people.
