2. Go into iTunes, click on File->Library->back up to disk on your old machines, then restore on your new machine. I have successfully done this with no problems. 1. I think the Firefox help menu will show how to do this.
Here is how you can do it over a network.... To transfer music from your Windows computer: On the Windows computer, create a folder to hold your music. Choose Start > My Documents to open the My Documents folder. Select the My Music folder, and choose Edit > Copy. Select the new folder you created in step 1, and choose Edit > Paste. Repeat steps 3 and 4 for any other folders that contain music you want to transfer. Copy the folder containing the music you want to transfer to your Macintosh computer. To copy the folder, either connect the Windows computer and your Macintosh computer over a network, or copy the folder to an intermediary location such as an external hard disk or remote server. If your Windows computer supports it, you can also burn the folder to a CD or DVD disc. On your Macintosh, open iTunes by clicking the iTunes icon in the Dock. Open iTunes Drag the folder that contains your music to the iTunes window. iTunes copies your songs to you iTunes library.
Seeing as this thread just got the bump treatment, I figured I'd mention this. I work at the Apple Store doing training and sales. And I run a Mac server and do related web stuff. I'm not always able to check the BBS, but if any of y'all have Mac problems you can't figure out, feel free to email me. If nothing else, I'll be able to point you in the right direction.
i have a mac mini, which from time to time emits a chirping sound during web browsing - kind of like there's a little nest of chicks inside or something. You have any idea if it's something i need to get checked out by the service guys? thanks...
I am not aware of any that will rip protected DVDs to save as an image file or copy to another DVD. There is a program called ImTOO that will rip protected DVDs to save on iPods. Another you can try (and I think it i free) is HandBrake.
Handbrake used to do it, though as I understand it the latest update took out this function. However, if you also have VLC installed (which is a good program as well), Handbrake supposedly will do it even after the update. VLC has to be installed in the Applications directory. (Not username>applications, but the primary applications directory)
are you sure about this??/ can't seem to get it to work? have roxio toast but that only rips to mpeg/avi?? anyone else have any ideas???
