Called the store earlier and they let me exchange it. Ended up upgrading it to the 2.4 as well. They had them in stock and im typing this on it right now.... It is amazing. Definitely should exchange if you can.

How do the owners of the new Macbooks like the looks of them? They don't look that great IMHO, but I'd need to see it in person to really make the call. How do you like the new track pads?

Oh man, i just started to figure out the track pad and let me tell you... i dont know what im going to ever do without it. You can do so much on it like go back and forward on the internet pages with it, you can scroll up and down the pages with it, you can finally right click with it, you can zoom in with it, and there is still more things you can do as well.
As far as the looks, I personally liked it when i first saw it, but it does look amazing in person. The new type of screen they are using looks so much better than the last model. The 2.4 macbook has keys that light up too, so that makes it look real good as well.

I'm kind of the same way, but I figure it will be like the iMac change...in pictures I was kind of 'meh', but seeing it in person was a much different thing.

Though, engadget had some really nice pics up and I can tell it looks pretty slick.

haha anyone want to buy a black macbook? it's only 8 months old! 2.4 ghz intel core 2, 250 gb hdd, 2 gb ram... anyone?

nah, kidding. as much as i love the new macbooks and pros, i don't love them enough to throw down more cash. i'll just wait for my current baby to crap out or to graduate college to get a new one, whichever happens first.

Haha I've thought about it too. LCD screen, a lighter form factor, new track pad, upgraded graphics chipset...But I can't justify selling my old one and probably having to spend $400-500 for that kind of upgrade.

Stupid question, but if you upgrade from the 160GB HD to the 250GB HD, does this make the Macbook any heavier?

My 40GB iBook is full, and 160GB seems like enough for me, but I'm still thinking about getting the 250GB...

I don't think it will make the computer noticeably heavier if at all heavier. If you are talking about the brand new macbooks then you should definitely get the 250 GB macbook if you have the money. Otherwise the 160 GB macbook should be just fine for a cheaper price. I am loving my new macbook a lot right now... Its great. I got the 250 GB one.

Yeah, I'm starting to lean towards the 250GB one. Instead of spending the extra $100 for the base level Macbook with 250GB, isn't it worth getting the 2.4GHz one that has 250 GB?

There is no noticeable weight difference among all notebook hard drives (maybe between SATA and solid state, I don't know).

I would recommend sticking with the 160 gb. For less than $100 (the cost of the upgrade) you can buy a 250 gb online, an external usb hd case, install the 250 gb hd yourself, and use the 160 gb as an external backup.

Nope. Just plug it in and get started.

Copy all your crap onto the drive. Unplug the drive from the PC. Plug it into the Mac. Should work fine.
