Well I've pretty much decided that I will buy a Mac. Most likely going to get the Macbook in the next couple of weeks. I did say I may want to play games, but in no way would I consider myself a gamer. Like I mentioned before, I haven't played a computer game in a couple years. I also have an XBOX 360 that I rarely play. I think in the long run I will be a lot happier with a Mac.
I just bought a Macbook and I am a Computer tech. If you buy the newest version of Parallels it has a ton of new upgrades from the previous versions and you can easily play PC games through parallels. I would suggest an upgrade to 2 gigs of ram. Then when you run parallels you can give 1 gig to OSX and 1 gig to Windows. Also if you do run parallels put XP on it and not Vista. Also a side note XP through parallels actually runs extremely well on the Mac hardware. Seems like maybe a little better then a lot of the Dell laptops I fix at work. So now with my new Mac I can run OSX, Windows, and the various flavors of Linux. You can't get those options if you buy a Dell so I think you are making a good decision and will like you machine.
With $2000 you can build yourself a pretty good PC rig for about 500-600, and with the remaining money you could purchase a mac book. Problem Solved
The black one is cool, but I can't see a reason to spend an extra $150 just to have it in black. I'm paying for the inside not the outside. I do have up to $2000 to spend and I will probably end up spending it else where on accessories and software. I'm also thinking about getting Apple TV.....anyone using it?
1000 for MacBook 1000 for building a very well equipped desktop PC with windows and linux. I know we all love to jump on microsoft, but the fact is a computer is daily maintenance just like a car. You have to keep it maintained and running. Don't like windows, go for Linux, tons of other options out there for you. I'm not bashing apple, I love their products and buying a MBP too. Im just saying the best thing to remember is to buy one because it serves your purpose. Also, if you have around 2000, why not a 15.4 inch Macbook pro. More powerful and great features, plus you cant beat all aluminum sexiness Have fun with your purchase. Macbooks are great machines and also easy on the eyes.
