I am sure he is very sad about that.

Also, the "its on me" talk has nothing to do with backing things up. He never guaranteed anything. He simply said if the Rox lose, he should be blamed. When they lost, he didnt back down from that and took the blame.

Im sure you dont care though, cuz after this post, my words are probably dead to you now.

here is a classic moment quote

"I would rather have [Steve, Cat's] overexuberiance for the game than Mcgrady's absolute lack of passion, desire. When we traded them away, we lost a lot of heart."

u can always get them back. i mean, trade tmac to the clips for mobley and some. then sign francis for free, i mean he's desperate.

    if that's what u want

Don't want the players back, want their passion for the game.

passion is how u interpret it to be. if that means screaming, waving arms willy nilly, then yea francis and mobley are passionate.

tmac is passionate in his own right but he keeps it mostly to himself--ala tim duncan. u dont see tim duncan pumping his fist, waving his arm on everything like most stars do.

I disagree 100%. Tmac does not care about the game. It has nothing to do with fist pumps or whatever.

    calm down my friend

if you didn't get the message do not reply...

whats most difficult for me to understand this season was the exactly this, passion.

you see the guys at the bench standing, cheering, beeing positive all the time, but its like shuffling a banana pudding into a baby's mouth, half of it gets puked out..

    IC2000,

Which player on the team do you think cares about the game?

I realize McGrady is no Jordan or even Nowitzki... but was he as bad as, say, Mo Taylor?

To say that Tmac does not care about the game is just plain stupidity, why the hell did he cry at the post game conference after repeatedly saying "i tried man, i tried". Sometimes people can just go to the extreme.

Because he is now being labeled a loser. Because he is supposed to cry. Because now he will hear 0-6 on the playoffs. That is why he cried. Did he leave it all on the floor? Of course not

Mcgrady is in a league of his own. Yao, Howard, Battier, Mutombo those guys really really care. Of course everyone else does, but its not the same.

Just look at Juwan Howard getting offensive rebounds and loose balls in the playoffs

Is this your opinion, or did you see this with your own eyes? If this is in fact true, T-Mac is a damn loser.

He's not talking about game. He's talking about passion and determination to win. Something Tracy lacks. Something this whole team lacks. I think Chuck Hayes is te only one who has it.

Exactly. I think we need to differentiate between a player lacking passion vs. being soft.

T-Mac to me seems like a guy who isn't passionate about the game. At least not most of the time. He coasts way too often. That's why we see him settle for jumpshots when he should be driving to the hoop. It's why his defense stunk during a lot of the Jazz series(particularly when guarding Harpring). It's why he wouldn't even attempt a shot before the half in Game 4 when the Rockets had 5 seconds left to run a play.

Yao is a soft player. He's passionate. You can see he wants to win. He works his ass off out there. But he can't elevate his game when he needs to the way the true superstars do. David Robinson suffered from the same problem. He had all the physical talent in the world. But he just didn't have the ability to take over in the playoffs and dominate. It wasn't until Tim Duncan came along that he was able to play 2nd fiddle(or 3rd or 4th in 2003) which he was more suited for.

T-Mac is unwilling to elevate his game when he needs to. Yao is unable to.

    totally disagree.

    Here is my observation:
TMAC can play with heart for about 10 minutes per game including the pre- or post- game interview. Yao can elevate his game when he is angry, which happened twice in 5 years.

ur hate for tmac is shown w/ this statement. tmac does not care? u have got to be kidding me. did u see his interview w/ stephen a smith to start the series. he's devastated.

and u think yao cares more than tmac b/c of the way he acts? if yao cares, he would do something to boozer to intimidate him. a hard foul? a hard playoff foul?

if ur gonna criticize the way tmac played, then yao played like a p***y behind a bush.

Tmac cares, but he doesn't seem to live an die by the wins and losses as some other players do.....
