Spoiler QUESTION: Why didn't anyone just start burning ish? fight back d*mn it I would say I was disappointed but i had no expectations M is good at suspense but cannot make a complete movie anymore Rocket River
After reading the previous posts, I'm not sure if I'll even rent it... If it's as bad as Lady in the Water, then maybe I'll keep it on hand if I have trouble falling asleep.
I felt the EXACT same way. I'm still not sure whether I liked it or not. I'd be pissed if I paid more than $3 to watch it.
Wow, that was really, really disappointing. Spoiler Did I miss something? Was there some underlying theme of "anger" causing the plants to release the toxins? The old lady screamed at the others, then she killed herself. The two guys in the field were arguing over who the leader was, then that group started dying. Zooey Deschanel was god-awful in this movie. I swear I thought I saw her laughing when she should have been scared, and happy when she should have been sad.
The movie sucked and yet it still made a ton of money at the box office. This is a case where the marketing people did their jobs. The trailer hooked a lot of people, I think.
I dunno why people still go out to see his movies. His movies have been nothing but consistent disappointments since Unbreakable. M Night Shmailman is famous for misleading trailers. Amazing how people are still falling for them. I'm waiting for the bootleg to come out.
It's a damn shame she isn't a better actress than she is. She's beautiful in just the right way (at least to me).
Saw it yesterday with Mrs. SwoLy. I didn't think it was THAT bad. She thought it was really bad. Spoiler She didn't want to see some scenes where the suspense level just asks for something scary to come out, but I kept telling her: "they don't kill each other, just themselves." Exactly what was happening. We noticed some mistakes, but I won't spoil anything. Behad, I agree, that actress sometimes lost herself in the situations where she should have held some emotions, and I think I saw that she was smiling in some sad situations. That was without me reading your post. I thought the movie kept me on the edge of my seat, but some things were inexplicable and I guess that's Shyamalan's premise in all his movies... but... at times I kept wondering "how come they didn't do this, and how come the kids or the adults didn't do blah blah"... Anyway, 7 of 10 jelafieds.
My friends and I watched this today and couldn't help but laugh at how bad some of the acting was in some scenes. Mark Wahlberg looked like completely uninterested in every scene and I don't know how Zooey Deschanel can be even called an actress. The death scenes were well done but that's it. Fortunetly, we caught the Hulk afterwards so we got our money's worth.
That movie was complete and utter tripe. I felt violated after watching such complete and utter s**t. Just complete, absolute, and utter garbage. This movie f**king SUCKS.
