Aquiring African Child and letting Shane go is the worst thing that happened to Rockets organization right after Yao injuries in last couple of years

No it was a great thing the team was better without Shane, he had served his purpose and was beginning his decline.

Bud was better as the starting SF than Shane at this point in their careers.

    Father time marches on.....

Dikembe at 40 wasn't able to run and jump but he was maybe the smartest defensive center in the game (Wish you best, Dwight). Hasheem can run and he really can jump but he is as stupid as Joey Dorsey, maybe even worse in that department. Ariza level?

He'll never be a solid NBA player.

Role player (10-15 minutes and bunch of fouls) at very very very best

He's just black and mobile version of Pavel Podkolzin

Wow, you are just wrong, he is not stupid at all. This is what is dangerous about message boards, people can make **** up and post it, and it gets its own life.

Hasheem is highly intelligent - what he hasn't gotten was a chance to play and grow.

Could he bust? Sure he could, but until he gets consistent time on the floor night in and night out, no one can say what he will or won't become.

Lots of busts Michael Olajukandi, Kwame Brown etc..etc..etc.....

The NBA draft is a risk....some players pan out some bust out, but most are in the middle.

Did you know that Shane Battier was the number 6 player taken?

He was a solid starter for sure, but would you consider him value for the 6th pick?

Shane Battier is the top 10 player of his draft behind Arenas, Gasol, Parker, Joe Johnson, Zach Randolph, Memo Okur, Gerald Wallace, Jason Richardson and Richard Jefferson. How the hell he can be considered as a bust?

He was the safe pick and he proved it in number of ways

    Hamburgers are baaaad

No, Adelman didn't play him because Thabeet is trash. He will be out of the league after his rookie contract is up.

If Chuck Nevitt can hang around as a tall bench player, then so can Hasheem.

Yes, you could be. One human being resembling another in a picture isn't racist.

It is bizzare, a player that is tall and athletic, and at the biggest position of need on this team has a slew of angry haters.

The guy hasn't been here half a year, and never got a shot at playing time, yet...people have given up on him already.

Heck, in Memphis he was behind a very good center in Gasol....sometimes it is about opportunity folks.

Hasheem needs that opportunity, then, and ONLY then, will we know if he can be a quality NBA player.

Making a judgement about him now, is just stupid.

and if all goes according to plan, he'll still be behind Gasol once we pry him away from memphis ;)

And wasn't D-mo drafted to play center? I know he can play the 4 or the 5 but since we already have 18 power forwards, I imagine we're going to try to keep him playing as a center. And if that's the case, who's ahead in the depth chart, D-mo or Thabeet? Who do we focus on developing more by giving more playing time? Neither will start at center to begin the season. Given the fact that there won't be training camps or preseason games, I think Chuck starts at center to begin the season no matter what (unless we sign chandler, gasol, etc.)

    Proof? I gave you proof.

Rockets didn't start Hasheem did they? The T-Wolves have RA now, do you think RA will start Hasheem (if you are really that obtuse, then you would say yes).

What about Grizzlies, why would they trade away their project in place of the late second rounder in Gasol? A lot of project players immediately got their starting position, but Hasheem didn't, even on a lottery team, why do you think that is?

Don't be ridiculous. This isn't about "opinion", facts and history say Hasheem isn't good enough to start. Facts and history say Grizzlies were more than willing to part ways with the second pick Hasheem for a one year rental on Battier.

Going by your method of argument, I am better than Michael Jordan but you have no way to disprove me because I never played an NBA game nor against Jordan.

I really wonder who was the best poker player there.
I agree that Bud looks dresses like a normal person.

Is that a huge cell phone that Greg Oden has near his pocket?
