I love those run n shoot teams too, but to me, Luv Ya Blue refers to the late 70's teams, not the early 90's teams.

There will NEVER be a team so connected to the fans like those Bum Phillips teams. Not even the Rockets championship teams were as embraced in Houston as those Luv Ya Blue Oiler teams.

I guess you're right. Anyone left rooting for them after they make the biggest draft bungle of all time has got to be pretty dedicated, either that or stupid.

MMMMMMM I dunno about that. Those mid 90's Rockets were pretty embraced and they gave Houston it's first Championships...EVER!!!!!
The city was very embraced in Hakeem and Clyde...espeically in '95.

    BUT....Texas is football country.....Friday Night Lights.....bleeding pigskin.
And those Bum days were special.

I will say this....I've been upset when the Astros lost and cried a bit in '86 when they lost to the Mets....I've never cried over a Rockets loss....been depressed...but never cried............But I was freaking Niagra Falls after the Bills and Broncos losses. I was lock me in my bedroom, cover the windows depressed over those losses. Hell...it still gives me goosebumps today.

I WANT to feel that way about the Texans. It might have started losing to Young and Titans last season. You have to lose hard to know how emotional you are about a team. Everyone is happy when you win....it's how you react when you lose. Does it roll off your shoulders and you go about your business? Or do you wake up still pissed on Monday morning and have a crappy week until they play again?

I could agree with that. The early 90's teams were much more "House of Pain" than "Luv Ya Blue".

Nice. For good measure, don't forget TE Mike Barber.

How about Rob Carpenter or Ronnie Coleman.

Can't believe I left off Carl Mauck and Greg Bingham.

The texans have been around less than 10yrs. The oilers werw here 35yrs its only natural the oilers rekindle all these memories. Lets see what happens when the texans have had some sucess that will be more of a measuring stick. We seem to forget all the bad years they had and man they had some teams that made the texans look like world beaters. Those early seventies 1-13 teams were beyond bad. I remember seeing on monday night football the dude in the seats sound asleep, and the early 80's before Moon came they were bad no offense,no defense. It was a balanced team they sucked on both sides of the ball.

How about the hero against the Chargers in the playoffs, Vernon Perry? I also remember Mike Reinfeldt being really good. How about this one- Carl Roaches!

I never loved sports like I loved the Oilers from that era. It was awesome!

    Blue... Blue... Blue... Michigan?
I'm not familiar with any blue Houston team. There's a TENNESSEE team that wears blue, but they're a bunch of choke artists owned by a s---f---er.

blathersby is a die-hard Eagles fan. You know nothing of heartbreak.

    Edit time:
So I was reading the Wikipedia entry on Bud Adams (wanting to see their take on everything), and I came upon this:
I think this might be the first time I laughed out loud at a Wikipedia entry. Kudos editor!
