The one thing I liked about Luther's was that they would sell you an onion blossom from the drive through. Practically the only bbq joint I've ever been to that would do that.

Big, Big Luther fan!!! Spoiler <iframe width="1280" height="720" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/6Rgj-FGm9H4" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> This genre of music drives the honey's crazy! (P.S) I prefer Goode Company Barbecue. ....... ....... .......
I am confused. Luther's sold out to Pappas in 2005 and converted the restaurants in 2006. http://www.chron.com/business/article/Luther-s-Bar-B-Q-fading-as-Pappas-takes-over-1559300.php
Yeah that's what I was going to say, there hasn't been a Luther's in a really long time. Also, Papa's BBQ is better than Luther's was.
Luther's was garbage and Pappa's is as bad or worse. Other than Corkscrew or Killen's the BBQ scene in Houston is pretty terrible.
I used to the eat at the one down by the Astrodome all the time. On South Main. Not world class cue, but it scratched the itch for convenient barbecue from time to time. I remember their sausage being fairly decent. I also remember having to put a lot of sauce on their brisket to make it more edible.
