I think it has more to do with other teams have caught on that he is a good shooter, and are slower to rotate off of him, and quicker to rotate back to him if they do. As others have mentioned he will get more open looks once Yao is back and our entire team is healthy.
He might have hit that perverbial "wall". He should bounce back with his second wind after the all star break. Or mabe sooner.
guys, it has nothing to do with "defenses adjusting to his shooting" the guy airballed 2 wideopen shots and bricked a third (I think) before he barely got one to go in.. I really think the microfiber ball helped Luther Head. without it, he is the same "average" shooter of last season's. I hope he proves me wrong though. P.S: I've been a Head hater since he went through is huge slump 20 games into last season. so this might explain my negativity against him. I dont like the way he shoots and I really dont think he is a good decision maker. I was so glad that he shot well to start the season because if we get him to only shoot (AND HIT) wideopen 3's, I have no problem with him. I am a 100% against playing him PG and I really dont like to go to him to "create" plays due to his inexperience and mediocre decision making. and I really didn't like the fact that he started "taking it to the hole" and running the fastbreak by himself against 3 defenders just to end up getting stuffed and creating an easy fastbreak upportunity for the opponent. but I am glad that he doesn't do this anymore and he is starting to make better choices. I really hope that Luther gets his shot back soon. and I would really like to see him go up strong and dunk the ball like he did last night (that doesn't mean I want him to run the break by himself and get blocked by the 7 footer waiting for him in the paint). if he wants to drive, he should go up and try to dunk everytime. this leaves us with 2 possible outcomes: 1. gets fouled 2. make the top 10 on NBA TV with a highlight reel dunk
