I was really disappointed with "Lasers". Nothing felt memorable and, if it just wasn't Lupe. I just recently started listening to his "Friend of the People" Mixtape... Now that thing is a classic.

It's unfortunate, but it doesn't change what he at least was capable of doing and did. He's been falling off in 2012, but his career already produced more classics than 95% of rappers out.

    Below the Heavens >>>>>>

Lupe himself has gone on record to say
    http://www.2dopeboyz.com/2010/04/29/lupe-fiasco-explains-all-city-chess-club-audio/

And you're not going to argue with Lupe, are you? ;):p

yeah what he's become has been sad, but people make it out of these situations and creative people in general seemingly thrive after dealing with addiction. I'm hoping for the best for Blu

Homie he didn't fall off in 2012, he only brought out one good album five years ago and that's it. Been complete trash after that release. I don't see how one album in his whole career makes him a great artists. One good album and rest of his career is complete trash. And it's not that he was a beast rapper on that one, he lived off the Exile production and solid lyrics.

Yeah I might have undershot that lol

But as long as he continues to put out TERRRRRRIBLY mixed albums, I think everyone will/can write him off as a waste. But Below the Heavens.. J&J.. No York.. and some of his random EP's that were half instrumental, half verse, all shows unbelievable potential imo. Just take away the drugs and his engineer!

The stuff Lupe did with Robert Glasper was ok, but I much prefer Glasper on his own.......

I don't get why all the hate on Lasers it really wasn't that bad actually it had some great songs in it, but Atlantic Records forced him to put out songs that are considered mianstream and if he didn't they threatened to not release the album. So it is not really Lupe's fault the album wasn't what we expected, Atlantic records screwd him and just wanted more profit from lupe's work.

BTW Watch the Throne is probally the crappiest rap album I have heard. No disrespect to Kanye and Jay-Z but they need to work seperately sure they can help produce songs for each other but pleaz never make an album togther.

I perferred Lasers over Watch the Throne.

Can't wait for Food and Liquor II and Raekwon IS the *****
