J Kidd's coaching career was made with Luka as his franchise player. Now his job security is gone lol.
That thousand-mile stare when you just found out that you were adopted and you’re examining everything that didn’t make sense in your life.
This is the ONLY farewell post about Luka on the official Mavericks instagram. Just one screen. No videos. Nothing. Dallas is showing that they actually hated Luka and wanted him gone ASAP. I really think Adam Silver made a deal with the Mavericks and they are relocating to Vegas or there’s something crazy internally we just don’t know about yet.
This feels like the 90s when the modeling industry got rid of the supermodel. The fact that the agents weren't told is such a slap in the face to both Lebron and his stupid little sidekick. Owners are taking back control.
One of the major reasons I hate the Lakers so much is that the whole organization, from the ownership to the GM to the announcers, all the way down to the fans are entitled. They think the whole league is their farm system. They can just grab whatever stars in their prime they want. From Shaq to Gasol to Dwight (which didn't work out very well but he was a star player) to LeBron to AD. Now Luka. This trade simply put them on the NBA map AGAIN for the next decade. It's just disgusting.
They have never won a single title organically. They are all bought with stolen stars. Even the ones you could say are homegrown were suspect. Magic landing in LA with Kareem even though the Lakers won 47 games bc if iirc the LEAGUE-not teams compensated the Lakers the pick for letting Goodrich go to Utah. Then they got Worthy #1 pick after winning the title from the Cavs-thus implementing the Stepian rule only after the Lakers were done benefiting from it. Kobe forced his way there through his agent threatening to go to Europe if not going to LA or Boston-eventually only LA. They tried to rewrite history and so many kids think the Hornets were just dumb to trade Kobe. Hell, even the play in tournament benefitted the Lakers at the perfect time. The bubble is an asterisk title. They also have many of the easiest title runs ever, granted Shaq and Kobe won some of the hardest runs despite their weak Finals competition. Their fandom isn't even organic and homegrown. **** LA.
