You have to break TMac's leg before you make scola as our 1st option :D

In related news, LeBron James has begun deferring to Anderson Varejao.

i think scola should be used a little more. but 1st option? did the op really expect ppls take him seriously? especially when giving no reasoning at all?

The 1st option has to be Yao, and a healthy, motivated fit McGrady(which is a rarity). At least with Yao he can be the 1st option half the time.
Ron is the 3rd best scoring talent but Luis is underrated without a doubt. Luis is at his best when he doesn't have to play against very fast, long, athletic 4/5's.
I just wish Ron's shooting percentage goes up. I'm not implying that Luis should be ignored because that will hurt us.

Nope. Yes, he has some post moves and his open jump shots are consistent, but if he reallly becomes the 1st option with so much defensive attention on him, he won't go anywhere.

Scola is a really really good role player and a role player he is. Don't overreact.

I have always felt that when Scola is the focal point of the offense he actually excels, which is rare for a role player. I always felt he should come off the bench as the primary target. Allow him to operate without having to cater to anyone.

Scola is where he belongs. But he could definitely be more a force.

He can be the focal point of the offense if neither TMac, Yao, or Artest is on the court.

IMO, if Artest is on the court, it doesn't hurt for Scola to shoot more.

But definitely not when Yao is on the court. Yao should always be shooting more than Scola when they are on the court together.

    Yep, you got it.

Scola is much better used when Yao is not on the floor and Scola can get in the low block and do his thing. He would be extremely effective coming off the bench for Yao with the 2nd unit, going against backup players. I dare say he would average a lot more points and our team would be much more efficient.

When everybody gets healthy, I really think Rick has to experiment with McGrady, Battier, and Artest at the 2,3,4 slots around Yao. Artest at the PF to start the game gives us several advantages both offensively and defensively with Yao in the middle. He creates a lot more space for Yao than Scola does. Then bring Scola off the bench to spell Yao and keep playing using Landry, Wafer, Brooks, etc.

Just rewatching the GS game and their announcers said that OUTSIDE the paint the league average on 2pt shots is 40%.....Luis shoots those shots at 47%.

    OUTSTANDING.

The triple pivot into a right handed lay-up only works so many times.

IMO, he should be the 6th man. When the starters cant perform well, take one of them out and put Scola in, he will be almost automatic with his shots. We'd be making other teams play how we want them to play by making them match up with us.

    LIES!

Anytime you see Scola go left it is an optical illusion likely involving mirrors. He cannot go left.
