I kinda think it'd be cool to mimic the hispanic soccer announcer. Whenever Luis scores, our crowd should shout: "SCOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLA!"
I posted it before, and I'll post it again... Scola needs to be in the post. He needs to be either the #1 option when Yao and Tracy are on the bench, or the #2 guy when one of either Tracy or Yao are on the bench. His greatest attribute is his post skills. Yet, he's regulated to taking jumpshots. Granted, those jumpshots are not outrageous, but he seems to be shooting a HIGH percentage from the post position. Everytime I see him post up, he's scored. That much 'craftiness' and excellent finishing skills should not be ignored.
The new Rocket's passion players Scola, SF3, and Yao. These guys will eventually rub off on the rest of the team.
Not sure if this was mentioned in the game thread or not, but did you see that after that energetic trip-play, the crowd started changing "Sco-la! Sco-la! Sco-la!" Only lasted for a couple of beats, but it was cool. As usual, Bill Worrell and Drexler failed to mention it.
let me rephrase that. I mean nothing good rhymes with Scola that would pass as a nickname. Course ebola and ayatollah don't exactly give me confidence in him either. Especially when you compare his jump shot to coca cola.
i said his jump shot was as sweet as cola. i never specified which cola - dont misrepresent my flow fool! and i think "luis scola - the ebola ayatollah" is a pretty kick ass nickname.
Somebody ... can't remember who ... came with Sco(re)la. That's my favorite. However, when Scola makes a great play -- which is more and more often now -- I yell "Skol!" and take another drink. By the end of some of these games I am getting happier and happier.
The passion assassin? Where the hell did that nickname come from? I think it's the worst I've ever heard. Aside from the fact it sounds stupid, it is easily misunderstood. Is he passionate and an assassin or does he assassinate passion? I think whoever came up with that nickname (I'm looking at you, DaDa) should henceforth be known as 'the passion fruit'. (edit) just went back and read the whole thread. Good call, Moes Tavern!
