Yeah I also doubt it. But if it is true, than it is not good at all.

Here's Feigen's take, which I think makes more sense.

The Rockets have focused on four teams — Washington, Philadelphia, Chicago and New York — with the Rockets willing to take back a long, heavy contract, but not two, and other teams trying to get one of the Rockets' young assets. (ESPN mentioned Luis Scola, but Washington and others are actually targeting Aaron Brooks, Carl Landry or Chase Budinger. Scola is a free agent this summer.)

Why? Because you equate his accent to being dumb? This was obviously a good job of translating.

Or maybe Scola is indeed a good writer. A lot of foreigners write better than they speak, you can take your time to search for the right word and you don't to worry about your accent messing up the pronunciation.

I have no problem believing Scola wrote that. Writing another language is often more easy than speaking it on the fly in an interview.

And people educated overseas, well, let's just say I see a lot of students from abroad with much better written english than our homegrowns.

Really interesting and thoughtful post, and it is absolutely clear that this is affecting the team's play.

I'm not saying i can't believe he can't spell and write in english people.

I'm saying that the way it's put together seems like It was taken from an interview and spruced up with personal things. Players just don't talk, let alone write about trade rumors. Arenas was a great blogger and never wrote about trades.

IT'S FISHY and I bet when he's questioned about the entry he will deny writing it.

It sounds like he wrote it to me. He doesn't really talk about any specific trade rumors. He only speculates that a trade will go down because of T-Macs expiring contract. He could be right or he could be wrong. Like he says in the blog, this is a nervous time of the year for many players in the league, I'm sure a lot of it is just paranoia as the trade deadline approaches.

It is not uncommon for a non English speaking person to write well in English as they do in their native language, and vice versa. It is harder to speak a foreign language than to write it due to accent and idiomatic experessions. I am surprised that people in this GARM are surprised that someone like Scola could write so well in English.

It may be true that someone else could have translated the blog article from Spanish to English, or vice versa, but from what I have read about him, Scola is a very cultured person. He has been around the world quite a lot and I also read that he makes it a point to study points of interest in cities and countries that he has been to. He hangs around with Battier during road trips and both of them go to places of interest to learn about the cities that they visit.

It maybe good for some of our posters to try to learn from other people and places too. It is really exciting, very educational and liberating. You also learn to appreciate other people who don't look like you and don't think and speak like you.

On Scola being traded, I hope not. He epitomizes the warrior mentality which we did not have much of in Houston since Hakeem retired, or was traded to the Raptors.

Luis is being a host of Discovery channel to explain to his fans the mystery and rules of the NBA trade. I find it very informal and educational.

That was a good read. I'd love to see Scola stay or at least go to a decent team.

The problem is even if you are personally getting it done, you may get thrown in to make a trade work.

Indeed. One could only hope that a technologically minded fan might find the time to photoshop Luis ala Mel Gibson in Braveheart, in his honor!
