And it will be less likely for Yao to have an another major injury next season since he will only need to play less than 32 minutes in most games.

go ahead and find my quote where i guaranteed a spot in the finals.

all i said is that coming into next season with a core of yao, tmac, battier, alston, scola, landry, hayes, mutombo, head, and jackson will be considered a serious threat to contend for the title.... injuries notwithstanding.

That will never be known because we could've lost some of the games we won because Yao wasn't there.

I don't know if I expect it but you can see that they have finally done away with the attitude that they need both or even either of tmac and yao on the court to play well. This is the first time that I have actually seen them extend leads against good teams without any of them on the court. Any good team has to be able to compete without they're stars on the court.

I am surprised no one has yet to come forward and tell us he knows for sure that the blog is fake. Are all the conspiracy theorist in hibernation today? Or perhaps they are not reading this board anymore because Yao is injured? :)

Yes, and without a healthy Yao or Francis, and still within reach.

Every team's views are built upon their players being healthy, you can not plan for injuries, if Duncan or Manu was out in the last 3 years they wouldn't have won 2 championships either. You roll the dice and hope that the players stay relatively healthy. Tmac has been pretty durable this year....and Yao has had a string of bad luck. Big deal it happens to a lot of teams, but unless it is chronic you just reload and go at it again next year.

Luck? Fallacy? More like your opinion. The 22 game win streak did validate something it proved that when you play as a team you can win, even with sustaining a major injury to a key component. Are you forgetting it is the first year in this offense? Do you think that the team is better now than in December? Imagine how much better it will be next year after an entire year in the system, and the players learning how to play together?

Why worry about other teams? They will have to adjust to a Rockets team that knows how to win, and has Yao back.....and how in one paragraph can you talk about players with histories of injuries etc, then talk about Portland and Oden, that is a tad bit hypocritical, isn't it?

I think the Rockets have proven that you don't need to make massive roster changes to get significantly better. Just adding the right kinds of players to compliment others are what is needed.

We still need a good backup Center with a midrange game, a penetrating PG or Wing.....and we can compete....

The sum of the parts is greater than the whole.

You are just getting crumudgeony in your old age my friend.

And I think you are reeling with all this Battier love...

    :D

Yao is such a nice guy!But you shouldn't be too nice to compete, esp.in such a league.Surely he is a good player ,but in terms of the help he may provide for the team ,it is not so definitive: What he need do is more than just score 22 per game and 10 rebounds. He needs to make rockets a real contender for the Champ. And it's still not a clear future so far.Maybe he will be another Ollajuwon or something, let's see.

    such a loser.
when facing difficulties, typical loser say "what if... only if...", they try to run away from their own responsibilities.
yao is not the one you can rely on. he didn't play 60 games for 3 seasons. let's all dream about him playing all season and all 20+ playoff games to get a champ next season!

No, it's fake. So why would you read it anyway?

    (1) If you knew something is fake but you still spent time to read it, you have problem above your neck.

    (2) If you haven't read it, you have no idea what you are talking about there.

Is (1) or (2) the true statement?

With Yao on the court, Scola and Landry would get a lot of open shoots, layups and yeah dunks. But, life is life.

I agree with DaDakota in this thread. I don't have any hopes for Francis and don't know about No. 1 seeds but still next year is our year. Scola will have improved, Landry will have improved (we have to keep him at all costs though), Brooks should be better. There's no reason our defense should slip and our offense will undoubtedly be better. We find a solid swingman and a backup to Yao and we're ready to go.

if only we had carl landry. please people, of course you'er going to miss yao when you play hayes AND deke at the same time. what do you expect?

carl landry will solve some issues finishing around the basket and will make them think twice about blitzing tmac like that.
