Nice to see this team slowly but surely turning things around in all facets of the game. Forget the 100+ loss team of the past few years. Just going back to those last few years under Drayton, where they had no direction at all, the farm system was total crap and the offense was nonexistent. Just swinging away at every damn thing that crossed the plate. So it's definitely nice to see them trying to improve the plate discipline of our hitters. And whether it yields positive results or not, it's nice to see this team have a direction and purpose once again, and seeing it come to fruition on the big league team.
I wonder if that would have helped Biggio with sliders. For such a talented player, watching him be baffled by that pitch again and again was torture.
The Astros are about to follow the Tampa Bay Devil Rays success. They need to grab an ace pitcher. I see two guys worthy in our rotation as future Astros starters. Keuchel and Colin M. The rest just don't pop out to me.
