I'm not as worried about Lucas shooting (I think he can, and will, shoot a good %) as I am his defense. In some of the film I saw during the summer, he reminded me a little of Moochie on D. You know, flailing his arms around, and not being very effective. I hope I'm wrong. He's quicker than Mooch, and smarter (IMO), so maybe he can do enough to keep his other talents on the floor. Certainly, he's quick enough to stay in front of just about anyone. I've got my fingers crossed. I like the kid.

I would guess that since teams rarely give you the number 1 or 2 options that Rafer's play would get a bigger boost from players 3 and 4 being better.

    At least I hope so.

Who cares that his stats are lower with Yao and T-Mac? The only stat I really cared about was that he the Rockets were 15-7 with those 3.

Alston will be better for the knowledge that Span is coming over and Lucas has improved enought to get a proper contract.

Last year there was no real pressure for his spot.

Training camp should be interesting...I know for sure i'll be keeping an ear to the ground for as much info on who's playing well, who's gonna make the cut etc as possible.

should be a very hot and competitive camp this one.

When the Rockets are healthy should be on pace for 60+ wins, not 55 wins. If somone other than Alston is needed to get us to elite or dominant status, rather than just being a good team, so be it.

Somebody (I think it was GATER) went back and looked at the quality of the Rockets opposition in that stretch - it was pretty weak and even if it wasn't it appears we were winning in spite of Alston rather than becuase of him, which is not a good thing.

The Rockets did a great job of getting veteran players that can contribute right away so I don't think they would put a 2nd year D-League player in charge of the offense.

But I also like what JL3 can do off the bench for us, the guy plays with a lot of energy and can really give us a spark.
