not really overdramatic unless someone is saying the chances are 0 now. yeah thats overdramtic. but LMM is a significant piece in what the rockets changed defensively this year. can't really downplay that but the rockets still have enough depth to withstand this for the time being.
agreed on this. I would love to have LMM against okc though. definitely a great piece defenisvely to throw at RW, pg13, and melo
It makes me sick that he's injured, no doubt. Gerald Green is gonna have to step up. I won't hold my breath on Joe Johnson.
yeah theyll probably adjust a few lineups here and there to compensate for what works for the rockets without LMM. hopefully all of them step up and its as if hou doesn't seem to miss a beat
I'm surprised there are zero actual updates on the severity or the expected timeline. It's all super vague. Luc did tweet this on 4/10: One team. One fight. One mission. Run As One. #Godsplan Read into it what you want, but for me that seems like a man that has some hope of returning.
He has the quickness and the hops to play great transition defense and chase people around. We will have to gamble with his discipline. Could be worse, though. When Luc was first injured we didn't really have Green to plug in at all.
True...I'm of the opinion if he hasn't shown it by 30-31 (how ever old he is) it probably isn't a part of his game.
That logic makes sense but yet I think he's actually been OK this season. He desperately wants to make an impact on this team, so even though his IQ isn't the highest, he's making up for it with sheer willpower. The Wolves will be a good first test.
Effort only gets you so far. There will be times where he can recover in time, but he will always be a terrible defender.
Well, we won't have to wait very long to find out. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ My point is that we could have a worse 8th-9th man in our rotation. Things are still OK.
If the Rockets lose to the T-Wolves, then the reason is much more then 'If only we had Mbah'. There is deeper problems to the team. If we lose to the GSW, the team itself could have played great, however Mbah could have been the razor thin advantage needed in matchups to have pulled it off.
Im saying that the Lakers game wasnt a playoff game so why risk it in a meaningless game. It's pretty simple.
Things could definitely be worse. I am anticipating we play Ego and Tucker more to cover up the minutes.
You're just drawing an arbitrary line based on hindsight. Not playing a role player like Luc has nothing to do with rest as it would for high minutes/usage players like Harden or Paul.....basicalky the only reason to nor play him is injury risk. At that point you're just throwing darts at a board. Don't play him in game 82...or game 81...wait why not roll it all the way back to game 70? or why not let him have surgery in Dec so he's ready now? why limit it to games? why should he even practice? Trail black could come down hard on his shoulder at any time? What if they hermetically sealed him in Tupperware and then he shatters his ACL in game 1 vs Minnesota? None of these things is as inherently knowable ex ante as you seem to believe ex post.
When you start saying things like "ex ante" and "ex post" you have exited the realm of sports forums. I suggest that you work on improving your knee jerk reactions and vindictive blaming.
