Be careful of Blazers or Jazz! Rockets fans.
Without Curry, Warriors would get swept by Blazers or Jazz.

Thats what people are discounting here when they talk about him coming back during the playoffs. Could he be back for the 2nd round? Maybe, but he might not want to risk future health and paychecks for the sake of this season.

Yeah but joe’s been getting a lot of burn. A lot more than I thought he would. Hopefully that pays off and he rounds into form in the playoffs because with luc out he’s going to be getting some big minutes along with tha god Gerald.

Does anyone remember what the rockets defense was ranked at when Mbah A Moute had his first injury?

You guys are acting like his arm is going to fall off. If he comes back and gets hurt again he’ll be done for the season, either way he’s getting surgery in the offseason.

Or I'm looking at players like IT and Leonard and realize that what's best for the team isn't always best for the player. Not to mention I have watched Beverley come back from injuries quickly only to get injured more later on. Maybe I just don't like to see players play hurt and be punished for sacrificing for the team.

So basically the same as last time. It sucks, but it means he'll be back for the WCF and could play in some of the 2nd round. This is directly from NBA.com regarding the playoff schedule for 2018:

    May 15-16
Conference Finals begin (possible move up to May 13-14)

4 weeks from today is May 9. Luc could be back for Games 6 and 7 of the Semifinals under the worst case scenario of this timetable.

Sacrificing for the team is what it’s all about. If you can play you play. There’s a difference between playing hurt and playing injured.

Rockets allow 104 PPG for the season. During the 15 games Luc was out, Rockets allowed 112.5 PPG. There were other injuries during that time also... but the defense drop off was very noticeable.

I'm filing all of these reports away under "good news," all things considered.

I wouldn't begrudge Luc doing what's in his personal best interest. Right now, however, "up to four weeks" is a helluva lot better than "season-ending surgery."

It’s time for the ISO Joe pickup to pay off...hope this happens; I think it will. Playoff Joe Johnson may surprise folks that have been doubting him

I would say he shows up differently when the team starts to count on him. He is now in a bigger role than he was before when mbah was here. There’s actually a need for him.
