Which ref-hunting PG is better? Was thinking about thisnsince they are both alleged Lakers targets for Gasol trade.
Objectively, Lowry. Far too many times have we seen the Celtics get shut down because of Rondo's inability to hit jumpshots and make free throws. And the majority of the time Rondo will miss the ref when he throws the ball at them.
If Rondo would just become an average shooter than he would have the advantage by a long mile, as long as he keeps having that huge liability, I will choose Lowry 6 out of 7 days of the week. About the Lakers, I'm not sure either Lowry or Rondo would propel them back to the top, regardless of what happens they will need Bynum playing out of his mind to get somewhere.
I'll say Rondo, mostly because he's had bigger performances against stronger competition (in playoffs, or against elite teams in general).
Kyle's almost as good on D. (if not equal) Rondo's court vision is also outstanding...and he has that fluid movement/first step which allows him to get into the lane easily. But beyond that, Kyle is better in almost every category. His offensive game is leaps and bounds ahead of Rondo.
Rondo's defense is pretty damn good. Lowry's an above average defender, but Rondo's top tier. Defense Rondo 9.5 Lowry 8 Vision Rondo 9.5 Lowry 8.5 Offense Rondo 4 Lowry 8.5 Totals Rondo 23 Lowry 25
Lowry because he can attack the basket and shoot the ball for rondo he can attack the basket but has no shot
Define "every category", other than pure jump shots I see nothing where Lowry is better than Rondo...
Lowry almost gets triple doubles.....Rondo gets triple doubles.....With that said, it depends on the team...With this current team, I would say Lowry.......With a Gasol or Howard trade, I would say Rondo....
