And Patterson who hogged most of the crunch time minutes with Scola is also injured and apparently needs offseason surgery as well. So please explain that logic...
I guess most of us have bosses or have had bosses at some point. I also imagine the most of use have not seen eye to eye with them on ocassion. Sometimes a frank discussion behind closed doors can be helpful for all involved. Some of us may have made a comment to our boss in the heat of the moment that others witnessed. Probably not a good thing. But just imagine disrespecting your boss in front of everyone, like on stage at a company wide event. At least in the reality that I am familiar with, it likely would not be just passed off by everyone as just a bad day. When I read that Lowry said "I decided to shut it down", it reminded me of Tmac going solo on his decision to have microfracture surgery. One would expect to hear, "After discussion with team doctors, we decided for the good of the team, and to ensure a healthy start to next season, I would not be seeing any more playing time this season". He may have had all the discussions, and been thinking that, but it did not come off that way.
Well, you can either choose "decent offense / no defense" by Scola / Patterson, or "great defense / no offense" by Camby and Dalembert.
Well, no -- that's not the train of logic. It was cool to start disrespecting McHale before we even knew who Adelman was.
Exactly, why in the hell would you play Camby at all in the first 3 quarters. it must be for defense right? So you don't need to play D in the 4th? What a stupid job of coaching.
This isn't high school or college, a grown man isn't going to stand for some other man jerking him around. I don't blame Lowry at all, Mchale needs to learn how to treat people with respect.
Hum, non star player gets hurt and his backup plays well. Non star play comes back but doesn't get his job back. Non star player becomes frustrated at coach. Sounds familiar?
Yes. Why does everyone want to be 'the man'?? The whole idea of being 'the man' is such a big deal because almost NOBODY gets to be 'the man'. Yet, time after time, guys get pissed because they aren't 'the man' (i.e. starter, go to guy, etc), and either cause a big problem (like what possibly happened here), leave to be 'the man' on another team that supposedly wants him, or BOTH. This is the one and only thing I admire and praise a guy like Jason Terry for ... he's not afraid to be a cog in the wheel, not trying to be 'the man' when he actually could be almost anywhere. Aaron Brooks, Kyle Lowry, and soon either Kevin Martin or Courtney Lee (we should definitely keep the later, but that's not my choice) will all wind up with bad attitudes because they aren't 'the man'. Why don't you grow a pair, man up, and take responsibility for pushing this team over the hump? Put your selfish ass games aside ... you're already making millions.
Perhaps mgmt should have foreseen this sort of thing when they decided not to bring back a HOF coach and bring in a novice instead. It's not surprising that everyone didn't feel like falling in line with that decision.
Sure, but look the kind of mess they are in, with both Howard and SVG trading jabs in public. Not a good situation at all.
We got outplayed when it mattered by the teams we were competing against. It is that simple. We were going to be swept in the playoffs, might as well get our traditional 14th pick instead.
It would be a hell of a note if it were true, but maybe this is what management wanted. Makes no sense, you say? Maybe it isn't supposed to!
What mess? They thought they were going to lose Howard and now they're going to keep Howard and lose SVG instead. I think management (and the fans) would probably call that a very good situation.
That's the third time in a row management has done that to a HOF or near-HOF coach. I'm almost used to it by now. At least the next time they fire a coach it won't sting so badly since McHale, while a HOF player, is decidedly not a HOF coach.
Lowry's return really cursed the team. Boykins was much more efficient off the bench and dragic was running the show well. Lowry was crying when he returned off the bench and his performance sucked.
