so happy to be eating crow right now. watching the highlights, it looks like he showed some flashes of (good) AB, himself, and a bit of (good) Francis. love this team.
Wrong wrong wrong. Brooks wasn't the best player on the team. Lowry and Landry + bench carried the team until the trade deadline. Once martin came over, he became the best player. All that was in Brooks mind was to score. He was always negative and couldn't run plays at all with his over dribbling. That's why Ariza got on him several times. And all that bull **** about " Oh, no one thought he would improve his shot this much" is an excuse. Even with him not shooting as good, he is still a better PG than Brooks. Rondo isn't the best shooter either but he runs the offense very well and contributes in many other ways just like Lowry. The only time Brooks was + was when Lowry was on the court playing PG. Oh and, I'd still rather have Lowry with the ball in the last seconds than Brooks. Lowry finishes stronger to the basket and with him, you have to worry about passing to someone wide open rather than Brooks who is not going to pass.
No. I'm talking about last year. The team was worse on offense and defense with Brooks on the court. The team was better on offense and defense with Lowry on the court. And as the previous poster mentioned, the only time when Brooks was really a net + on the court was when Lowry was playing next to him.
I think for many fans (myself included), the role we all wanted to see AB play was as a 6th-man in the mold of Jason Terry. It's funny that once he started getting that role, his numbers dipped heavily, and rather than trying to make the best of that situation, he became difficult and vocal in his displeasure. I'm not surprised AB got traded, and I'm not surprised Lowry's playing well. I think the big surprise has been just how well Lowry's played as of late, and one can only hope that he continues this tear.

Hey, how come I wasn't quoted at all in the Lowry believer section...I guess I was doing more hating on Brooks than lovin on Lowry
If you hear a loud popping sound.......that was my head coming out of my a$$ about Lowry. I have a mouth full of feathers and am munching away. I was one of the ones that said we were better off with brooks because of the difference in outside shooting but Lowry has proven me wrong and has drastically improved. Not many points I would rather have than Lowry. I get the same sneaky feeling about T-Will that these next two years are going to see a drastic improvement.
