I don't know what has gotten into Lowry. Last year Lowry knew he sucked at threes, so he only shot wide-open threes. Now he just jacks them up whenever he feels like it. He thinks he's Reggie Miller out there...
true rockets fans never get a laugh at the expense of their own players! DD is making fun of lowry! KILL DD!!!!
only if the barn was part wildebeest and Kyle Lowry can do that because even if it was not. He can pass good and shoot bad but not really bad so i think he can do it. But depends if the barn was really far or not i think he onetime hit a three point shot so he can do sometimes maybe it was two times but that makes more possible that Kyle Lowry is good passer and shooter. He can hit the barn.
Jermaine Taylor isn't even allowed on the farm, let alone near the barn. On a serious note, I remember last season Morey was saying they wanted Ariza hoisting up 3s even when he was missing because they believed the team had a good chance at getting the long rebounds. Maybe that same philosophy is at work with Lowry this season. Plus, I noticed Lowry putting up quite a few jumpers with the shot clock winding down. I know he's not shooting well overall, but these kinds of shot attempts will bring down his FG% more.
I love Lowry more than Brooks, and Lowry is not playing that great right now, but he also does things that Brooks can't do. Lowry is not a good shooter, but he can drive into the lane and take contact and make the layup. This is an undervalued aspect of the game as it puts pressure on the other team by putting them in foul trouble and allows our team to setup the defense. I don't think Lowry is a player you can judge strictly based on stats, you have to watch the games and see how he controls the tempo, gets key rebounds in a crowd of people, and makes hustle plays.
True ... but when he is open, he'll totally hit the barn ... ... and injure himself from the collision, missing at least half the season ...
Yao Ming couldn't catch a barn if it fell on top of him. Brad Miller can't out run a barn in a foot race. Fans like the barn better than Shane Battier for being more tangible.
Kevin Martin would totally hit the broad side of Matt Barnes. Floyd Mayweather would, and has, hit a broad.
Broad side? Yes. Narrow side? No. I said the same thing in a thread bashing Rafer Alston for his poor start to a season a few years ago. Lowry's numbers will slowly get back up to his career averages. If it's just an out of shape thing messing up his J, then possibly he will get higher if the reports of him working on it are accurate.
The TRUTH here is that Lowry and Brooks are complete opposite PG's and they both have their Pros & Cons... I personally believe Lowry should start because of the combinations on the floor with the first string suit him and the team better. I really really like him paired with Kevin Martin and lets face it... Martin and Scola are the Rockets big 2 at the moment at least offensively. I think Brooks was the main focus last year on offense but when pairing him with the other four players in the starting rotation you just need better defenders to make up for mistakes that Martin and Scola make. Scola is still terrible on defense but since Lowry came back and Ish got more PT with the starting bunch, the defense has gotten better almost overnight due to better help defense. I believe Scola and Martin offer the right offensive combination matched with Battier, Lowry, and Yao/Miller/Hill. As for Lowry's shooting.... well lets just say he needs to get in a better groove and control his shot selection better. The time to work on your shooting is in the offseason and in practice, not in the game when your team in a slump. Im sure that Adelman and the rest of the coaching staff let him have it after a shooting performance like he had the other night and early in the season. The effect that Lowry has on the game is his overall ability to make things happen on both sides of the floor, push the ball, and find the open man by attacking the basket to break down the defense.
Brooks is a very good scoring PG, who is not so good on D. Lowry is a very good defensive PG who is not so good on O. Both sides of the argument probably overate their guy a bit. I think Brooks is way better than Lowry, because at the end of the day making shots is what playing the game is all about, and he can do it early and late. Lowry on the other hand impacts his team more, he has an infectious spirit, much like Luis that gets other players to play even harder. We are lucky to have them both, since we don't have Chris Paul.
