Anybody remember Francis? He was pretty much the exact opposite. It was like he wanted to wait as long as possible before bringing it past mid court.

It also allows the defense to set. It works both ways and as long as u can do it, that works. Like another poster said, cp3 has been doing it since coming into the league.

Yeah you can tell Morey has told him to always take that 3 pointer with 32s remaining for the free possession. Lowry is the ultimate Moreyball player.

This reminds me of how on defense Battier would sometimes come out to harass the ball handler at midcourt. He said something to the effect that the points per possession went down if they set up their offense with two seconds less on the shot clock.

The little things contibute a whole lot towards winning. We have one of the most efficient offenses in the league. Extra time on shot clock only makes us more efficient. It also makes the defenses have to work harder longer.

He doesn't do it when there are fast break opportunities, so I don't see how it makes much of a difference on setting the defense. The defense will be set when he gets there, it's just a matter of having 22 seconds or 18 seconds to work with.

It would actually make me a bit nervous about turnovers if I didn't know that Lowry was so good about taking care of the ball.

i never understood why more point guards don't do this...they dont have to play in your face d, but just don't let PGs dribble upcourt in a straight line looking up ahead ready to call a play...

And the extra seconds Lowry gets definitely helps. He's always thinking of how to increase scoring or winning opprortunities...not saying he came up with this, but its one of a lot of little things he does throughout games. You'll rarely see him take a plays off.
