Hide your kids, hide your wife, cuz Jimmy's stealing everybody's girlfriend when he gets to Houston

He'll have to compete with Ime Udoka.

That's the biggest question this season - What does Green's next contract look like and .... where does he ultimately play?

I'm not sure I'd go for Jimmy Buckets but the possibility of trading green does exist.

I would call him Jimmy Layup because he is not one of the better shooters to call him Buckets no more.

No thanks. Love Jimmy, but I would send them nothing but scraps from Longshank's table at this point.

Good God, if Stone makes that trade, I may just give up. I'd entertain a straight Green swap maybe... Even then, that's only after giving him some ample time this season to prove he has it.

If Jimmy Butler was 30 instead of 35, sure.... but you don't give up anything of value for a 35 year old Jimmy Butler.

Somebody else said something similar in the trade thread IIRC

But if it was Brooks, Tate, Green :( , Landale or Adams + FRP (2025 or 2027).... I think I would be all over that

Unless those picks are protected (say lottery protected), HELL no. He barely plays, can’t shoot, and is old. Not even close to good enough to make us a contender. Those picks are super valuable and need to be saved unless you can get a real star

This is illogical, either Green proves himself and is a better player than Jimmy Butler, or he doesn't and there's no way in any universe he has enough value for a straight swap. Why would Miami trade their biggest name for a bust? Makes no sense.

Jalen's value is as a large expiring contract, not as a player.

The bigger loss in that proposed trade is Cam and the picks.

If you could get even old man Butler for just Jalen and filler to make the money work, you jump on it.

The issue is giving up things of value for old man Butler.

I think we can relax, Butler's name is called upon to tell those who were coined 'Core 6 or 7' that they can theoretically be traded.

And force them to work harder and at all times. I see Butler as leverage and nothing else.

Nothing more and nothing less. That said Butler can still play 3-5 years but on a much smaller contract which should not happen in Houston as the Rockets only want players younger than 29 on any big contract.

    (not Fred and Dillon included)

There are shades between better player and bust. He's 13 years younger. Even if he doesn't make a significant leap, there's still potential upside that Butler can't have due to his age.

I wouldn’t give them nobody out of the young core. I would give them Dillon, fillers and a lot of picks for Jimmy. If it doesn’t work out, we would have 50 Ms coming of the books with our young core still intact.

Nah, you're deluding yourself there. Either Green breaks out and we can then trade him for someone like Butler straight up, or he doesn't and we have to add things to the deal in order for them to consider it. This isn't NBA 2k no matter how much y'all like to pretend it is on the unrealistic trades that only work in our favour nonsense.
