Campbells and Progresso make low sodium soups now. Usually about 1/3rd the sodium of the regular ones.

I can vouch for the Progresso low sodium soups. They're good. Well, as good as the regular stuff.

Yeah, I looked for some at the store last night but didn't find them. All I saw was like "Only 60% of the normal sodium!". Those were still in the 800 mg range it seemed.

Yeah, the Progresso soups are good, I like the Vegetable Barley (I believe it's the Weight Watchers kind that's zero points). They also have an Italian vegetable that's yummy.

I'm not a huge fan of salty stuff, but I agree that we eat a lot more salt than we think. Here's a meal that I'm planning to cook tonight: Orange roughy with olive oil, minced garlic and pepper steamed in the Ziploc Zip-n-Steam bags. Some reduced-sodium green beans on the side. By the way, the Zip-n-Steam bags are awesome. You can steam anything in those suckers. I cooked a cup of brown rice in one for lunch, just to see if it would actually cook right, and it did.

If you're watching your sodium the #1 thing to stay away from is frozen meals. I used to buy Healthy Choice and Smart Ones meals thinking they were good for me, and then someone brought the sodium content to my attention. It was baffling.

I only eat the frozen meals now if I don't have any time to make a fresh meal.

One of my coworkers mentioned this today when I told her about the tilapia I made. She was like "you know what's really great? Orange roughy. I discovered it a while back but now everybody makes it."

It's like she was offended that other people knew about it lol.

Anyway, I tried a new thing tonight. I got some of that Mrs. Dash stuff at the store on my way home. One chicken flavor and one tomato/basil/garlic. Here's what I made.

1 lb. ground beef (220 mg sodium)
1/4 box of spaghetti (0 mg)
    1.5 tablespoons I Can't Believe It's Not Butter (about 200 mg)
    1 teaspoon Mrs. Dash tomato/basil/garlic (0 mg)
    handful steamed broccoli (25 mg)
2 medium sized scrambled eggs (about 100 mg)
1/4 cup shredded cheese (190 mg)

Throw it all together and you've got 3 hefty servings of a tasty meal. Only 245 mg of sodium each.

    :D

Sounds good. If you like spicy food, try the Mrs. Dash extra spicy. Lemon pepper is good on veggies and eggs.
