Patterson may develop a low post game eventually, but you can't expect him to be a consistent scoring option with it. I suspect Jones is of the same mold but with a better jumper, so Motiejunas maybe Asik might be our best bets. Morris and White also probably have a few post moves but sadly will most likely not get the time to develop them.
With this squad, I don't see much of a low post presence. Nice to see a few moves by PPAT but overall he isn't dangerous down on the block.
Well, he seems like he's avoiding contact/injuries low post. It would be nice to see him finishing stronger and drow it down harder. Maybe he's holding something back?
Scoring in the paint or scoring in the paint by posting up their man? In the P&R they are running they shown a decent amount of success rolling to the rim for points in the paint. There also seems to be much more motion in this years' offensive sets which will bode well for the likes of Kevin Martin to attack the defense, and get to the free throw line. Also Jeremy Lin will have no problem getting to the free throw line as well. Also have to say that Omer Asik has been better than advertised on offense. He rolls to the basket very well off the P&R, and is a very good passer when catches the ball in the paint, and draws in the defense. However on the block, the opportunities are not bountiful. -2Pat and D-Mo have the highest skill level & fundamentals on the low block. However 2Pat still seems to rush his jump hooks, and shots when he's in the post. I dont think he's a reliable option right now to go to consistently, but as the season progresses you might be able to run some plays through him early in the game. -D-Mo, has got some really nice looking moves, but his weak lower body prevents him from commanding the initial position he needs to post his man up. Next season, or his 3rd year, I would fully expect him to be a force in the post. Right now, he just doesn't have the lower body strength unfortunately. Its easy to see though, that his footwork and skill level are off the charts for a rookie. -Royce White hasn't got enough run yet to fully judge, but right now I would say that he's going to be much more effective on the high post where he can also create off of the dribble. Eventually, when he works on his jump shot more, I can see him having a nice face up post game similar to that of Carl Landry and Paul Millsap because of his quick first step. Right now, he doesn't have the jump shot to command enough respect from his defender.
