I'll take a 4-12 Oilers team every time over a 12-4 Texans team. The Texans are a joke. New stadium and 7 years and two # 1 overall picks and still horse****. Give me the white helmet, white jerseys, and white pants!
...then Owen Daniels bangs Jessica Simpson in Romo's car afterwards This is a tough one. I love the Oilers (I am 31). They were my team as a kid (started watching in 86) and all though high school. They will always be my true hometown team. But as others said, they are gone and not coming back, and we are stuck with the Texans. I just hope they finally become competitive and at least make the playoffs. I've watched almost every single game in franchise history, and it's at the point now where it isn't fun...it's just an obligation. I hate that.
wow...some of you are like Cubs fans........just would rather deal with all misery huh? I loved the oilers though. But I voted for great Texans team.
This is a no-brainer for me. I'm 34, my grandparents were season ticket holders from 1960. I was born in Houston, and some of my earliest memories were watching Earl Campbell and hating the dreaded Cowboys and Steelers. I remember asking Santa Claus for a cowboy hat when I was four because I wanted to be like Bum Philips. I was still a loyal fan after my family moved to Corpus Christi, where EVERYBODY were Cowboys fans. I lived Houston during the lame duck years and remember high-fiving Gary Brown after a game, and hoping for a miracle to keep the Oilers in Houston. Yeah...I was one of those guys that still went to the empty games no one cared about. I moved away from Texas the last year of the Oilers in Houston and have no connection to the Texans. Nothing against them...but after my team was gone I lost interest in the NFL. I became a bigger Longhorns fan and followed Ricky Williams during the Saints days but after that I stopped watching completely.
lol...that's real logical. you give the texans so much crap for being "losers" but you'd rather have a losing team.
There was a bit about the Oiler's in John McClain's most recent chat that I thought was funny: All of that drama makes Bush/Vince/Mario look quaint, doesn't it? The Oilers were one hell of a dysfunctional football team.
