Getting involved has a Overton window that is built in to maintain the status quo.

Get involved in protesting the building of a urban MOUT training facility for cops, the type of training facility I used to be trained up to clear insurgent terrorist compounds, who exist to serve a civilian population in Atlanta where majority of the constituents were vehemently against it where only special interest private businesses were for it and boom the activists get charged with RICO.

It seems like there is a type of people who get upset by the mere fact that someone isn't enthusiastically voting for Biden. Buddy I know Biden is better than Trump... If that is your main concern. This is a place to rant to the futility of the two party system.

Yes the corporate establishment that Clyburn represented felt scared and then weaponized race politics to create a perceived racial divide between progressives and the establishment wing of the party. Hence the "Bernie didn't lick my private health insurance industry funded bum hole" from Clyburn.

It's basic social manipulation. Weaponize the Black Caucus to create a narrative that progressives have a latent racism because don't try to "court black communities".

Well, when you have an entire movement attempting to incentivize and promote LGBT you have to stop and at least think what are we doing? This has gone further than gay acceptance to gay promotion. You are promoting your sexuality and celebrating it and being celebrated nationwide in just about every single aspect of our lives possible. With it has come other things like highly sexualized content for children that should be nowhere near a school in an attempt to do what exactly?

Then you introduce this notion that children can chose their sexuality which is entirely faith based and or feeling based and not biological or scientific. While gender dysphoria is real, the glamour that this movement wants to incentivize it at is not. There are children growing up feeling welcomed and appreciated it in this community that are thinking they are gay and trans but are only being groomed and converted to this group.

Has there ever not been a movement by oppressed people where the oppressors often use the "why are you shoving your identity to my face" logic to dismiss concerns of oppression?

Teaching kids that being trans or gay is okay and acceptable is seen as religious indoctrination. I think its a line you sincerely actually don't believe in. It's something you use as a coping mechanism.

Any marginalized group who is vocal can be dismissed by people who support the marginalization with " your activism sounds like religion to me".

Try harder in trying to equate lgbtq activism to religion. You are doing a bad job of it. But I believe its a job that inherently will make anyone look like a fool attempting to do so.

have you considered yourself bisexual btw?

The ability to believe you can be groomed to appreciate and enjoy homosexual sexual acts from a natural starting point of being straight signals to me you got some latent bisexualness that you are suppressing and therefore resort to coping by being the oppressor.

I sincerely believe this is why you see the most hardcore anti-lgbtq activists end up being caught in a gay bar or caught in a homosexual act or relationship. It's internalized self hatred for a part of themselves they've been told since birth is evil.

I don't see how gay people were ever oppressed, while due to religion it hasn't always been widely accepted in the west but it wasn't something many people weren't coming into terms with. I'm a late 90's kid and I remember gay characters on tv since then, it was never a strange ordeal or something I viewed as taboo. It sort of just was but I knew it wasn't common or the norm.

Eventually like everything being gay would have become complete normality but instead of letting nature take its course it was patented and sold by political figures and corporations who are now betting their entire stock on it or they are out of business.

Question is, why is a sexuality being promoted to children in schools? Children don't think sexually, while it is nearly impossible to change an Adult's sexuality it is simple and easy to convince a child that being gay is trendy and popular. Why this sudden push?

Sorry but that "you are secretly gay" won't work with me. I think gay people have the right to like what ever they like. I can't judge or tell them they are wrong. I don't know what it feels like to be attracted to something that the world tells me is unnatural and I can imagine that it is a difficult situation to be in. However, to say it is common and natural is bs.... To promote it in schools is also bs. Children should not be shielded from it either but there are responsible ways to do so without creating this toxic and highly sexualized movement that for some odd reason is found in schools today.

if you think children can be groomed to alter their sexual identity then ya brah, you might have latent bisexual desires and that's okay. It's just not okay to internalize that self hatred and direct it towards other lgbtq folks.

Expressing the humanity of lgbtq folks is what is "indoctrinated" in social settings like classrooms. It allows children to abstain from things like bullying when they get roughly older and face some of their peers coming out. It also allows a comfor zone for teens to be open that they aren't straight.

Humans comfortable expressing their sexual identity is healthy for society. When you have a culture that demonizes humanization of trans or gay people you get situations of army of self hating closeted gay people preaching hate and then being cought getting head by some dude in a gay bar.

I think there are two reasons. The first one has been ongoing for decades. The second one is what I see the most in this thread and seems to be the more popular and modern one.

    1. Proponents see the display of the Ten Commandments as a counteraction to increasing secularism. They argue that removing religious symbols from public life contributes to moral decay and societal problems, and reinstating them can help reinforce moral standards.

    2. The push is part of the broader culture wars, a reaction against perceived progressive agendas in education. By mandating the Ten Commandments, supporters are trying to assert their values and counteract what they see as leftist indoctrination.

Anyhow, we should expect to see this trend continue now that these folks see this Supreme Court as their best chance to reverse decades of "left" progress.

There use to be a time when being progressive meant fighting corporate consolidation and fighting monopolies. The old progressive movement meant empowering unions and being pro labor.

The modern day progressive movement is all about grifting and aiming for ridiculous **** that has no chance of happening. It's so pathetic what has become of progressives.

That's why every leftie is getting their ass whopped during the primaries. Everyone is tired of the grifting bs

Bernie sanders didn't outgrow his vote share in a single state in 2020. He lost every county in the Michigan primary. Voters overwhelmingly rejected him even though he outspent biden by a wide margin.

People give political parties power by their actions or inaction.

We should ask ourselves that question.

We should ask ourselves why most of us don’t bother showing up to vote in local elections and why a good chunk of us don’t show up to vote in federal elections.

Maybe it’s because many of us see it as: what does it matter? They are all corrupt or they are all bad, or the status quo is fine, or various other things that make many tune out and not participate.

Being gay has been a condition of humankind since the beginning of recorded history, as documented in historical books and stories. It seems to be part of human nature from the very start. It is definitely not a new phenomenon. What is new is the widespread acceptance of it—actually, that’s not quite accurate either. Acceptance of homosexuality has happened in the past in some societies. It has not been accepted in others, but today it is more accepted than ever.

Children are born with God-given brains to adapt and learn. If children are indeed influenced by the higher acceptance rate of homosexuality, then that’s also natural. However, what we know is that body chemicals, hormones, and genes play a huge role in development. There is plenty of strong and direct evidence that children grow up to be what they are due to both their genetic makeup and their environment, with genetics being primary. The environment impacts where you end up within the range of possibilities determined by your genetics.

How you see yourself and who you become attracted to might indeed be influenced by your environment, but everything we know suggests it’s not strong enough to overcome your primary drivers—your genes and the hormones that drive bodily changes as you age. There is no evidence that a person becomes gay simply because their peers or society are more accepting. Throughout societies that are either more accepting or less, the percentage of people who are gay hasn’t changed much. This implies that acceptance or rejection does not influence who are gay or not.
