Why is our country in a state where we chose a old dude barely clinging on and a old dude who is barely clinging on but also a fascist?
Why? Why are we like this? Why do these political parties give us these **** options?

    Why?

Because sometimes people are more important than politics.

Sorry, but what you said earlier straight pissed me off.

Should 20 year olds be president?

Would you be offended if someone said "naive 20 year old".

I can pick apart your cognitive dissonance on this moralizing high horse trip you are on now. Trust me.

80 year olds are too old to be doing anything besides enjoying life in retirement. Biden is cognitively declined. A high school debate bro could out wit the president currently. It's a sad state of affairs.

And Biden might not be a fascist but he's still got that lead poisoning "I'm a Zionist" and "tough on crime" boomer energy going for him where he does things like call all student protestors anti-Semities or dismiss the amount of Palestinian deaths as "not credible" or extend title 42 at the border or buy into the right wing narrative about the border. He's been on the wrong side of history so many times from segregation, to 90s "broken windows" "tough on crime" politics and voting for the Iraq war.

OK. It's all good, you can pick apart whatever you want.

I hope you never have to take care of a family member (might even be a "boomer"). It could be difficult job from the top of your ivory tower.

If so/not, that's ok too, you should maybe think about at some point being potentially a tad less confrontational in the future.

    Just a thought.

You should definitely think about being less confrontational. Saying you are outraged at me for asking if a political cartoon targeted towards cognitively declining boomers altered your mood state enough to go on a high horse rant towards me.

    Are you seeking outrage?

Blame our private health insurance system for how we treat elders. Blame our relative lack of social safety nets for elderly folks relative to other parts of the world for how difficult and expensive it can be to take care of elderly folks. Don't place that anger on me.

You need to relax man, it was just a cartoon... You can't have thin skin in these parts of the forum, people are going to post things that you don't necessarily agree with or like but you can't get that upset about it.

@Buck Turgidson is right.... We get caught up in politics and forget about things that matter most, none of these politicians truly care about you or me.

Can I give a suggestion to your comedy bit on this message board.

Spamming the term "woke" doesn't automatically make something funny. Try to expand. Maybe your news feed only gives you content to b**** about "wokeness". Comedians need life experiences to improve their content and your life experience seems to be a Twitter algorithmic feed.

There is more than morals wrapped up in the 10 commandments. It's not just akin to saying, 'Johnny, don't lie.' it also teaches monotheism (no other gods) and specific Judaic practices (keep the Sabbath) and that morality isn't just about what you do but what you think (coveting).

It is also half the picture and woefully inadequate about Christian morality. Says almost nothing about what you should do, only what is forbidden. If I only got one poster and had to put up some moral teaching from the Bible, it would be the greatest commandment (per Jesus, not Trump) - love the Lord with all your heart and love your neighbor as yourself. That's more relevant and actionable, more moral, and more Christian while also being fairly ecumenical. I do not understand the hard-on folks have for the 10 commandments. It's not your best foot forward.

That girl in the tank top has fabulous skin, Korean skincare? They’re wasting their money or their parents’ money though by attending the Poison Ivy League schools.

It’s because this country isn’t simple and
Is made up of various interest groups and to win requires coalition building.

The Democrat side is why we have a old political hand that has been an insider and compromiser for candidate.

On the Republican side our country is also obsessed with celebrity and full of grievance. We also mistake anger for principle and attention grabbing for substance.

Brah are you employed by the DNC?

    Sincere question?

A human that can compromise doesn't need to be a geriatric that tried to compromise on segregation, waxed lyrical about right wing myths about crime like "broken windows" to push draconian crime bills, deny genocide of Palestinians, buy into right wing framing of the border and do things like fight to extend title 42, shut down the border etc just to appease some milquetoast racists who don't like Trump but still don't like brown people.

No, Joe Biden is not the one man of 330 million humans that can "compromise". It was "his turn" amongst the political establishment and the only people who have turns are the type of people like him or Hillary who've been on the wrong side of history over many things. People like her still admire war crime clowns like Henry Kissinger.

Why do we as a society prop up humans who been vehemently wrong so often?

So being gay or trans is a religious belief?

With you I always assume you are doing this out of good faith as in you sincerely believe what you type and the reason for this is your veracity and how often you dedicate time to this. So, for my own mental health sake, I'm hoping that it's you being sincere and not dedicating this much time to something that you don't sincerely believe as a bit or parody. Because that's too much time investment.

So with that said do you see how this is dehumanization when you tie sexual identity to a religious belief?

I don’t work for the DNC but I’ve been involved in party building doing stuff like attending caucuses being a delegate, and campaigning. Have you?

This is the problem with our system. So many people complain but so little even the bare minimum of voting.

Here’s a dirty secret. Our political system is a conspiracy. It is a conspiracy of those who participate and get involved.

this is why special interests play such a role because by definition they are the ones who are most motivated to participate.

If anything that Trump was president and is nominated again shows that it’s not about secret power brokers in shady rooms picking whose turn it is to run. The RNC in 2015 thought Trump was a joke. It’s that his supporters cowed the party leadership of why the GOP is where it’s at.

You can blame society all you want is but the truth is both these candidates survived a bruising primary in their original runs. Trump beat back all the challengers relatively easy this year and no other Democrat has the motivation to run against him except for Dean Phillips. It wasn’t an accident or smoke filled room deal but a process that was out in the open that nominated them.

With this Louisiana law and how right wingers defend it, it shows me an aspect of fascism. The "every accusation is a confession" aspect of fascism.

Notice how the motivation behind supporting and defending the bill is purely out of a spiteful nature due to a perception that leftists are training kids to be trans.

This bill was a retaliatory culture wars action. It wasn't an action based in sincere faith and a desire to preach the good word. It was an action to remind radical leftists who has the real power. Notice no one defending this bill based on their faith or a sincere belief in the ten commandments. All of the defenses are based in "but you guys indoctrinate kids to be gay"

I guarantee you the people who pushed this bill couldn't give two bucks about the ten commandments spiritually.

That’s fine. I’ll ask you the same question have you ever worked on party building or a campaign?

Also to add in 2020 after the NH primary Biden was in fourth place many including here were saying his candidacy was doomed. He can back, thanks a lot to Rep. Clyburn, but it was far from certain in February of 2020 that Bidnenwould be the nominee.
