And he know is too...which is why he want on to backhand Griffin a bit with his whole coming up short in the playoffs or whatever he said after the trade. Trying to make it ok in his head...maybe even pass the blame off a little.

Well they signed Griffin and immediately traded him.

Perhaps they feel an extended Lou has more trade value.

Good deal(if it gets done) they can move later.

Tuesday's revelation that Williams and the Clippers are discussing the framework of a contract extension could compel teams to bring their best offers sooner as well. According to a person with knowledge of the talks first reported by ESPN, the possible deal would likely be for between two and three years at approximately $8.5 million annually. As of late Tuesday night, however, there was no deal done.

Not a great fan of Lou as a player but yeah, that's a great contract if true.

Wow. That contract is great value honestly.

The market is changing big time. Ariza has no shot at the numbers people have thrown around.

Lou probably could have got a lot more than that on the market, I guess he's tired of moving around...but that will be an easy to trade contract in the future lol.

Lou probably could've gotten 3 years/$35M on the open market. Interesting that he's choosing to go this route. Clippers must have promised him they'd try not to move him......not that it means much.

Let's see what the contract value is, but I'm wondering why Lou Williams would do this. He may WANT to stay in Los Angeles (he had signed with the Lakers as a free agent in 2015), but the Clippers clearly will deal him if they get an offer that works.

Team option? Lou, you gotta get a player option on that.

Good for Lou, better for us - now he won’t be on a contender.

Reserving judgment until I see he exact numbers. It’s not a bad deal with TO. Clippers are looking for a quick reload. Guys like Lou help maintain a professional culture, and a two year commitment isn’t bad.
