Just because there isn't a franchise player in the draft this year doesn't make tanking a bad idea. We need better athletes on this team. Not just spot up shooters who can't handle the ball or play defense (Reddick). If we can get a solid third starter...preferable a big guard, then it would be worth tanking. This team doesn't have the cap room to bring in an impact free agent and we don't have much in tradable assets. I believe both the first and second round picks in this years draft are going to be important to the success of this franchise in the next couple of years.

I'm a "Play for Pride" guy, but looking at this schedule, if we lose against Seattle tomorrow, a team that we should be able to beat on the road, then I wouldn't be surprised if we go into a tailspin to end the season. First off we're on a six game road trip, and while we actually have a better road record than home, I'm still wouldn't bank on us holding up like that.

This team just isn't mentally tough enough to handle a few losses. Things just tend to snowball for this team and, if we end up with a 1-5 road trip or a truly wretched 0-6, then I could totally see this team folding to end the season.

This seattle game is key. If we lose to that team, it will give us all the momentum to end the season on a 2-8 or 1-9 streak. I guess Clutch will like that.

I hate to say it, but I'm practically expecting to lose tomorrow and for us to go on a losing streak and end up with the 6th-7th worst record in the league. I guess it'll be consolation to get a higher pick, but it still hurts to go out with a whimper like that.

I know it hasn't happened yet, but it's just a feeling that I get that it will happen. :(

the question is will Yao be willing to tank the rest of the season? the scrubs can just play like they usually do.

com'on guys... it's not time for the "PRIDE" or "FINISH STRONG"... the season is over... nobody can argue that and Charles Barkley was right... it's just not the right season.. all the injuries and everything... it's time to shut it down, rest the guys, play rookies and young guys to develop some kind of chemistry.. and ride a 10 game losing streak to get a good draft pick " HOPEFULLY JJ REDICK" .. so forget winning... TANK TIME BABY..

I couldn't agree more, it's one of the few times I wish Yao would go down with a minor hamstring pull. Sit the big fellow for the rest of the season after these two good games and just call it a season. Get the 6th or 7th pick and reload. Think of the big picture.

Play to win. Never put less than your best on your court. At the end of the year if your best didn't make the playoffs so be it. It is better for the team to work toward winning. It sends a better message for our future.

Plus as fans like myself have paid for NBA league pass in order to watch the Rockets, fans in the stands, and at home, don't want to watch a team that is trying to lose.

Our rookies, and Young guys don't need extra time to develope right now. Due to the injuries they have gotten way more time to develope than was planned. They are ahead of the game as far as getting meaningful minutes.

Our veterans can rest when the season is over. Do not teach our young players that it is ok to not put out a best effort. Teach them that winning is important, and play to win.

Dammit, FB, there you go with logic and reason again! We deserve a high lottery pick. I've got LP as well, and this season has been one long root canal, interspersed with moments of glory. Our agony has given us the right to a high pick.

Justice will prevail! We'll get lucky!

you have a point man..I really hate it when they lose especially on purpose.. but that's the NBA.. it's a cycle ..all the teams have to have a bad season for them to shine after that and win championships.. I mean look at San Antonio.. they tanked to get Duncan.. our Rockets tanked 2 SEASONS IN A ROW to land Sampson and Hakeem.. if it was last year, I wouldn't tank because the draft sucked..but this year..I am predicting a draft similar to the one of LBJ, D Wade, and Carmelo... and heck, dont we need a great shooter like JJ Redick to help Yao and T-mac??..
