The lowest we can reasonably tank is to the number 8 pick. But that might be low enough to pick up the shooter we need, J. J. Redick.

I have a strange feeling your grades would be very different if the team was healthy all year. What are they, 21-10 when healthy?? Grade = B+.

Didn't he go 0-17 or something the other night? Heck, Wesley and Alston can do that.

Well shooters are streaky, I think Redicks shot holds up in the pros though. The question marks are regarding his athleticism and defense.

Sheldon Williams would be a great draft pick for us..

rebounds, blocks shots, and a big body to protect Yao. imagine that front line. no one is getting inside our paint!

I've read reports that JJ is a projected mid round pick, not lottery.

Some fantasy drafts have him as lottery and some have him around 15. His position will depend on how well he does in March madness, when he plays against the top teams. If he shoots lights out when it counts he'll go high.

I think its quite obvious that JVG is looking for players from winning programs and have atleast a couple years experience under their belts at the college level. I think guys like Reddick, S. Williams would be great picks in the middle and late lottery. I doubt he would drop to us, but I think Carney would look great with our team. He is kind of like James Posey, but with even more athleticism and upside.

Can we still have SF represent us in the lottery show, he got us the #1 pick last time! If NY didn't trade their #1 to Chicago then I'd say that was the only reason they traded for Francis.

Oh and anyone who thinks Morrison would be better for this team than Rudy Gay is crazy.

He's the perfect player for this team I believe.

Shot has been off lately due to fatigue as he has had to be constantly on the move to create his own shot while being double teamed.

But he is a pure spot up shooter that can beat his man one-on-one to get off that 3, and I think most importantly he is a very underrated passer. Imagine JJ feeding Yao the ball in the post and getting it back when the big man's doubled. Like David Wesley but GOOD.

That makes no sense...Tmac is bigger than Morrison and can rebound better. By the way... I like Morrison's offensive game but have you seen him defend?

    Brandon Roy scouting report

I was going to say this guy was one of the most underrated college players out there, but he just won the pac10 player of the year award so at least he's getting some recognition.

As the scouting report says, there's nothing Brandon Roy is bad at. He can finish in traffic (including lots of contact), find the open man, hit shots off the dribble or spot up, rebound, and defend. His outside shot is suspect, but like the rest of his game it's heavily improved in his final year apparently.

I've watched him play a lot this year and he's money from midrange. People talk about his court vision and I can tell you it's legit. His assists don't just come from passing along the perimeter to open shooters. He finds cutters and can easily lob to fronted teammates. What I really like is that he looks so comfortable on the floor. He's so versatile and does everything so easily that I can see him being a major contributor to a team.

The problem? He looks so much smaller than his listed height of 6'6". If Adam Morrison is really 6'8", Roy has to be 6'4" cause he looked like a midget guarding him. He can't be bigger than Bob Sura. It's funny because I think he plays like a faster, smoother version of Sura. And people talk about Roy's defensive abilities, but I don't think they're anything that special. Still, I'd love to have Roy on the Rockets.

I'm liking Redick too ... though he's been slumping lately. The guy can shoot and come off screens for his shot, and boy do we need that. A man can only take so much of Rafer and Bogans from long range. I don't know much about his defense. Hopefully his game shifts well to the pros because Bryce Drew and Bostjan Nachbar could shoot lights out before coming to the NBA also.

I just hope we don't end up with Rudy Gay because I don't think I could handle Head, Bush and Gay jokes on the board for the next 10 years.

His scouting report kind of sounds like Wade. And if he is that good, then it's probably better for us if he did turn out to be shorter than expected, since that's the biggest reason why talented and accomplished players fall in the draft. Let's see how he does in the tournament.

He's not Wade. Oh not even close. I had no idea Wade would explode into the player that he is now, but I saw how he played and what he could do. Roy is on a much lower level. There's a reason why Wade listed at 6-4" with no outside shot was still drafted at #5 while Roy at 6-6" with a better outside shot is projected at mid to late-lotto.

Roy plays like a smoother Bob Sura with better court vision. Likes to attack but won't dominate that way. Quiet rebounder in that the ball will go to a group of guys with him nearby and by the end of the game *BAM* he's got like seven rebounds without you even noticing. Likes to do a pull up jumper a few times too many, but he hits them (like Sam Cassell). On defense he keeps his man in front of him.

If Roy truly is 6-6" then he's the perfect swingman and the most well-rounded starting-calibur SG the rockets will ever get in the next few years. If he's 6-4" he's just another combo guard that plays big for his size. Nice to have, but the rockets should consider gambling on someone less concrete who actually does have the size we need. But I still really like Roy.

Well I don't see lightning striking twice so if we miss the playoffs it's gonna be a #13 or 14 pick

LOL. Sheldon Williams cannot dominate the college games like Nick Collison or Drew Gooden did at Kansas, and they did not mount up to be anything more than role players in the league. I highly doubt that Williams can become a better player than Swift in the league.

RedDick is another story. Never questioned about his shooting ability. However, he would be eaten alive by the NBA 2s on defense. Dukies have produced enough great shooters in the past and the chance is fact that DedDick becomes another Trajan Langdon or William Avery.
