This Wade thing got me thinking about whether the U.S. could field a competitive Olympic Men's Basketball team just from players on lottery-bound teams and/or NBA draft eligibles. They could start practicing right after the regular season ended and maybe have something to prove. So from the following teams, and/or the draft eligible, what's the best team you could come up with: Charlotte Washington New Orleans Sacramento Toronto Cleveland New Jersey Golden State Detroit Minnesota Portland Milwaukee Phoenix Utah Mine is: C- Greg Monroe DET, Al Jefferson UTA, DeMarcus Cousins SAC PF- David Lee GS, Paul Milsap UTA F- Kevin Love MIN, Kris Humphries NJ SG- Montae Ellis MIL, DeMar DeRozan TOR PG- Steve Nash PHO, Deron Williams NJ, Brandon Jennings MIL
Like the thread, my picks are young guys mixed in with a few vets for leadership. I dont think Steve Nash and Deron Williams would play in the olympics with a bunch of young guys. PG: John Wall CHA, Kyrie Irving CLE SG: Monta Ellis MIL, MarShon Brooks NJN SF: Gordon Hayward UTA, Austin Daye DET, Grant Hill PHX, PF: Kevin Love MIN, Lamarcus Aldridge POR, Markief Morris PHX C: Al Jefferson UTA, DeMarcus Cousins SAC
Bigs- Demarcus Cousins, Al Jefferson, Paul Milsap , Lamarcus Aldrige, Kevin Love, Greg Monroe, Brook Lopez, David Lee Wings-Eric Gordon, Tyreke Evans, Gerald Wallace, Derrick Williams, Monta Ellis, Derozen PGS- Deron Williams, Stephen Curry, Kyrie Irving, Jennings Obviously not the best, but still could win gold as it has athleticism, bigs, and talent. Heck with Aldridge, Love, Eric Gordon, Deron Williams,Stephen curry you are already getting 5 from the gold medal olympics
