So it has been a very busy first half of 2014 and we have a few major changes that have manifested themselves in the last couple of weeks. About a month ago while vacationing in Sweden I received a call from my work asking if I would be interested in a promotion. Right now I am a Sales Engineer for a software company and I work with an Account Manager here in Houston where we cover 5 states of the South Region. I've been asked to be the technical counterpart for the Vice President of our West Region. The best part is that they will be moving us to Seattle! We have always talked of wanting to move to Seattle but we figured it would be several years away. Now we will most likely be moved during Q1 of 2015. Our second bit of news was probably even more unexpected. On Wednesday, my wife texted me saying that she almost fainted so I called her to make sure she is ok. She said that she was fine but that she was feeling light headed. I ask her when she had her last period even though I am pretty sure I know the answer. A few pregnancy tests later and it's confirmed, we are going to have another little Baiter around sometime next year. So I have a 17, 14, and 1.5 year old already. Some of you may know that the 1.5 year old was after some very hard work (read ~$50k and Hibachi Balls): Example 1 Example 2 After going through that it is shocking that she would get pregnant without help and on birth control! After climbing down from the ledge and having some time to digest the info I'm getting excited again. Having kids is always fun especially when you are older and have more experience, patience, and money. So that's our update! Nothing like going from the status quo to moving across the country and having another baby within a couple of weeks to add some variety to life. This time next year will be very, very different which for me is exciting. Here's to the next chapter.
Great news all the way around! It's funny...sometimes you can try and try and try and try to get pregnant with no success...then as soon as you stop "trying" it happens. Wife and I tried without success for several years. Then, after stopping with the calendars, thermometers, etc. and just a week after finally making an appointment with a fertility specialist.....BAM. Pregnant with twins.
Congrats to you and your family on both pieces of news! That is awesome. I've only been to Seattle once but really liked it.
Outstanding! My significant other and I were wildly reckless (from time to time) for 20 years and she didn't get pregnant. As soon as we decided having a family was a good idea, before we got too old, it took no time at all. Go figure! Congratulations on the new addition and the promotion/move. I'll be rooting for Seattle to get another NBA team so you'll have some Rockets games to go to. ;-)-
My kids are 14 and 12 and I wouldn't want to start over but I applaud and congratulate you on wanting to and doing so. Best of luck with everything.
Congrats Batier... I'm glad everything is working out for you work wise and I'm sure this little one that is on it's way will be fantastic. 16,13,10,6, and 5 here
Congrats on all accounts! <iframe width="420" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/MQijKK0gen0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
