My wife and I have both enjoyed this show tremendously. It has enough possible plot lines to keep it going for quite some time and enough mystery (what the he!! is that thing?) to keep me interested. Far more than just a bunch of people marooned. I think the backgammon guy was there before the crash. Something is up with him.
I thought i saw that guy sitting behind the black lady on the plane. In Jack's flashback scene, when he is talking to the black lady, he is sitting behind her.
Too obvious. My money is on someone totally unexpected, like the pregnant girl. (Who flies when you're THAT pregnant?) What's up with the Asian couple?
I like it, it's the thing that wifey is making me trade for our evenings with the Astros. But unlike her, I dig what she's making me watch. The fugitive was a shock.
Saw part of the first and most of the second. Seems interesting. Kind of got a M. Night Shamalayn vibe. At least I hope it is that good. If anyone has ever been on a plane before there are not that many young good looking all togther at once. Definately not a cross section of the population as most flights are. But then again this is hollywood. Don't see how this can be a series. 1 year only.
Why not. All they need is a guy in a red shirt and a white hat that repeatedly screws up their rescue plans.
While i like the idea of being stranded on a remote island... I don't know about that whole mystery monster angle... after that tv movie "IT" i don't expect much when it comes to this crap.
It's time to revive this thread. Lost kicks major ass. I have a new theory about the island. Complete speculation, but it makes a little sense. SPOILERS GALORE! The island (or proximity to it) results in your deepest desires being granted (that is, desires you've had BEFORE the crash, which is why they haven't been rescued). Let's run through what we know, based on that assumption: - Locke can walk again. Obviously, his wish was to walk again. Duh. - Jack desperately wants to find his father and does so (sort of) on the island. The jury is out on this one, but his father's coffin was empty. Dum dum DUM!!! - The kid reads a comic book with polar bears in it. Perhaps he really wants to see one. The expedition to boost the transceiver runs into... a polar bear. A stretch, but it cannot be discounted (according to the creators of the show, EVERY detail is there for a reason). - We know of at least 2 people who want to "escape," prior to the crash -- Kate and Sun (the Korean woman). Perhaps the plane crash itself was their doing as sort of a demented desire. Now, we don't know all the facts. Only a teeny bit of info has been revealed so far. However, I'm sticking with my theory... for now, as it sort of makes sense. As for the island monster, I'm betting that it's actually benevolent. Otherwise, Locke would be dead by now. IMO, something else killed the pilot in the first episode. Would make for a good twist.
so the monster is either Ricardo Montalbon or Hervé Villechaize i'm kinda surprised at how well it's doing in the ratings. i guess America is going back to scripted TV instead of reality.
I love this show. Great post VesceySux. I haven't read anything about the show but i've seen every episode and you could be on to something.
I'm hooked on the show. Vescey to add to what you were saying you can also include the boys father wish was to get to spend time with his son.
wanted to give this a bump for the 2 hr season finale tomorrow. basically for the past 8 months the only programs worth watching with regularity were 24, lost, and rockets games. imo. a very good series up to this point and i've no idea how they plan to bring this to a close, so i thought i'd interject with my 2 cents. **spoilers** one of the main themes of the show has been duality. a very early episode featured locke introducing the game of backgammon to walt, explaining how it was the oldest game in civilization and stressing the role of light vs dark, black and white, good and evil, etc... both the youngest and oldest main characters (locke and walt) exhibit some sort of The Shining like effect where they're able to sense the future. when jack and kate find the remains of the two bodies in the cave (dubbed adam and eve), jack picks up a sack filled with white and black pieces off one of the bodies. as claire gives birth, another main characters ends up dying there are two individuals who are using pseudonyms (hurley and sawyer) one party stays on the beach, the other in the caves one party decides to build a raft to try their luck off the island while others stay behind white polar bears vs. black boars and i'm sure there are others. the season finale will probably incorporate this into the show somehow, just not sure how. yeah, this show is good enough for me to run the risk of sounding like a fanboy. o well.
you know, i didn't watch the show until the 4th episode. i was hooked. thank goodness for bittorrent i was able to d/l the previous episodes. easily one of the best shows i've seen.
