Eko probably didn't want to do it. Walt would've been grown and that wouldn't have made much sense since everyone else was the same age. And Michael being there would have drawn more attention to Walt not being there.
i'd stop wondering, or you'll come up with maybe a zillion holes in the plot. trust your inclinations that none of the writers had any clue what was going on and made crap up as they went along, and weren't smart or organized enough to keep everything straight.
How does the "limbo" afterlife affect what Michael told Hurley about the whispers being people who had died on the Island?
I heard lots of rumors that Walt would be in this finale and all I saw was a flashback of him. **** Michael and I hope he went to hell for what he did to Libby.
Do Michael, Walt, and Eko even exist in the same afterlife universe? You could ask the same question about all the nameless passengers or assorted minor characters that eventually died on the Island. Just because they were a featured character on the show, that doesn't mean they "move on" together with the rest. The requirement, I think, is having a strong emotional connection to Jack and his Island friends.
I'm rather surprised how many people are saying they hated the ending. Come on, it could have been as bad as Seinfeld, Sopranos or Roseanne... I didn't hate it and I didn't love it.
I'll backread later - Magnificient end to the show. Possibly the best Finale to a show, especially with so much pressure to deliver. 90% of shows blow it, and this was as powerful as it gets. Loved it.
LMAO Michael is on Kimmel. No doubt they will ask him why he wasn't in the church. It's also odd considering he hasn't been a major character since S2.
