One question that I don't really care that much about but a lot of people do is who Kate is going to end up with. If that plays out, I think it's going to be the sideways time line but not the island one. My theory is that Jack's ex-wife is in fact Juliet. She'll be at the concert. So will Kate. Sawyer will end up there somehow. Maybe Miles sees the escaped fugitives (Desmond, Kate, Sayid) there and calls his partner for backup. But they all remember what happened on the island and Sawyer and Juliet are reunited. Jack gets Kate. Faraday gets Charlotte and Hurley has Libby and Desmond has Penny. Locke has Helen. Sun and Jin show up. Claire and Charlie are there and they get each other and just to wrap everything up in a nice little bow, Sayid gets Nadia somehow and Ben hooks up with Rousseau and makes Alex his adopted daughter. And they all lived happily ever after. Except Miles who is still single. I was thinking about him earlier today. He was last seen with Rose and Bernard in the Season 5 finale. I think we'll see all 3 on Sunday.
Great episode but Kate has been the Trevor Ariza of TV characters--thought to be an important cog, only then to be found totally useless, pretty much a one trick pony (sex appeal) and can't really help in any way other than to mess things up.
Damn it, Trustme. Sorry to be short, but yeah, I think that qualifies as a spoiler, and I really wish you hadn't posted that. Bummer. That would have been an awesome "Oh Wow" moment, and now it's kinda spoiled for me. I suppose that's inevitable in this thread, and I know you didn't have malicious intent, but a couple of pages ago, other posters explicitly said that when posting something about "other cast members that are supposed to appear," use a spoiler tag. That was a big one. Grrr. Okay, sorry to be pissy, I know you didn't mean anything intentional, but damn, that's annoying. Okay, given that, will probably avoid this thread until after finale. (Trustme-- you might want to edit your post with a spoiler tag in case other annoying people have same annoying reaction I do. Thanks man.)
Oh snap, my bad man. If someone could edit my post and make it into a spoiler tag would be great since I don't have the ability to.
Me too. Since Jacob and his mother all speak Latin prayers for their Island powers, I don't think 'worshiping' Jacob is correct since his Roman background puts him ~3000 years after the ancient Egyptian artifacts and architecture on the island would have been made if historically accurate.
Spoiler I think this as well... Des seems to be Jacobs clone in the alt timeline (at least the way he does things)
Locke is about to kill everyone left on the island when out of nowhere Vincent jumps out of the jungle knocking Locke back into the light cave. Entering the light cave twice causes the MIB to spontaneously combust destroying him forever. Vincent becomes the protector of the island.
No worries, and sorry I went off a little. Maybe I'm a little on-edge right now, spoiler-wise. Thanks for understanding. Also, this would bring the series full circle, and the writers love that kind of symmetry. In the pilot, when Jack first opens his eyes, guess who's the first character he sees? Vincent!
If this series ends with a fade to black while they play Journey's "Don't Stop Believing" I'm going to be pissed.
i am not sure if worshipping is a correct term, but rather following Jacob. somewhere along the lines Jacob was able to convince people he was the guardian and they started to take orders from him and passed that sense of obedience down to other people who came to the island etc. I mean you had Richard of course but I dont think Richard by himself could convince other people without the help of Jacob. Not to mention the statue how, why, when that was built. I guess there are still a lot of answers to be told in the finale. I dont expect a huge reveal for these but something would be nice
You have to put the right superstars around her for her true talents to show. If Jack were played by DiCaprio and Sawyer played by Will Smith you would see her character's strengths really shine through.
I think they kind of killed her character appeal over the last two seasons with her storyline. That said, she is damn sexy.
sorry, but I just don't believe the rumor that trustme posted. if it were true I would be pleasantly shocked. I understood that the creators and writers of LOST got the show back on track in the middle of Season 3, when things started to slow down and audiences were getting annoyed at seeing Sawyer and Kate in Zoo Cages. I just don't see the writers having enough foresight to film a secret scene with Walt. Maybe they can use some stuff from the editing room floor to connect some of the dots. They will be airing the enhanced pilot episode, after all. random theory- Shannon and Boone will be at the concert, with them being in the world of philanthropy and what not
I liked her character development during the first two seasons where she was revealed to be a woman-on-the-run and had the tracking skills and the capability to kick someone's ass. I honestly think that the writers thought they needed a damsel-in-distress and/or love interest for the show/story/jack/sawyer to work so they took the badass qualities away from her. That and Ana Lucia came on to become alpha-butch-female.
Agreed. I really liked her early on too. This last episode she kind of got back to the cool Kate when she talked to Jack on the beach. I liked Ana Lucia as well. It was good to see her in this last episode. Just a shame Ecko wanted off.
Yeah.. that's not gonna happen. The explanations from the Jacob/MIB backstory episode is all you're ever gonna get. what's left is the big fight and then the end. this is why i'm frustrated with this show... they are only gonna tie up maybe 50% of the open-ended story lines.
