If it makes you feel any better, the author of one of the blogs I read saw the upcoming episode on Thursday during an event celebrating LOST composer Michael Giacchino. He said it was the best send up to a season finale LOST has ever done.
Oh, and some disappointing news. Apparently, one mystery that won't be addressed is: Spoiler Who shot at Sawyer, Juliet and company when they were in the outrigger canoe in Season 4. subspoiler - interview excerpt Spoiler
I just went back and watched the "Flash" episode as well as "The Constant". Man those were great ones. I forgot how moving the latter is. The Desmond/Penny theme has to one of the best love stories in TV history. What line were you talking about? The see you in another life one? He's said that to Charlie as well in another one. I'm going to definitely have to go back and watch some of the older episodes before the finale.
I don't get why fans are hung up on that scene. Of all the things that need answering, that's near the bottom of my list (previously next to "who are Adam and Eve").
The questions I want answered is what was so important about Walt? The others were going crazy to take care of him, they got the dad into all kinds of mess because of it. I would like them to explain the significance of Walt, but it seems like they've totally abandoned that. Also what's with the whole conception, baby, interest on the island? That one seems like it might be answered and they may already have some clues about it ongoing.
Less than one week before the 4.5 hour finale extravaganza, with the penultimate episode airing tomorrow night. TPTB (Cuse/Lindelof) are simulcasting an interview with The New York Times to big screens across the country on Saturday (5/20). There are several Houston area participating theatres. http://www.fathomevents.com/Original...alks_LOST.aspx
I watched "Follow The Leader" to prepare for this week's episode. as mentioned, the episodes leading up to and the final episodes themselves each season have been nothing short of spectacular. "Follow The Leader" is a nice bookend to "Because You Left" (S5EP1) it also made me realize how season 4 truly was "The Beginning of the End."
Yes, the actual episode is 2.5 hours, but I was referring to the 4.5 hours of general LOST "coverage". There's even an hour of Jimmy Kimmel dedicated to the show after the finale ends. All the stars of the show will be guests from what I hear.
Question: would you rather them give us a possibly weak little one-line explanation for Walt's disappearance or just let it go? I feel I'd almost rather get the shout out. Any sort of acknowledgement, however lame, would serve as closure.
Weak sauce. Because that scene implied that we would recognize the folks in the other canoe (TV SOP - if they intentionally go to lengths to hide something from you, it's because it's important - BIG!REVEAL!), that a person was shot in that canoe, .... and they kept taunting us with possible reveals (all the outrigger rides in the past 2 seasons). It's why I remain annoyed at the very anticlimatic reveal of the statue destruction. They made too big a deal of it for it to simply be a random event with no apparent significance. I can be okay with Walt simply being a foreshadowing example of an ongoing theme, one that was nailed home last week. The guardian of the island seeking out a replacement. One that is "special", and the younger the better. The younger the candidate, the easier it is to mold them and the less attachments they have. It's also why they kidnapped Rosseau's kid and why they tried to take Aaron (via Claire). Hopefully they make it clear....but if not, I can live with the Jughead explanation. I've always suspected that it was some sort of "punishment" from Jacob over abuse/unapproved agendas by Island inhabitants, in the same vein of the Island taking back the use of Locke's legs for an episode. It could also be that the partial loss of the Swan energy pocket was to blame. I'm not holding my breath for a great explanation.
I'm with you. This is one of those questions that already has a potentially clear-cut and probable answer. I don't need too much more.
Don't forget that they're airing the "enhanced" version of the Pilot again on Saturday night. That combined with the finale and tomorrow's episode = 8.5 hours of LOST events this week.
Very cool compilation of deaths on LOST. They say it's complete but I think there a few missing. <object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/69OXRew7v0I&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/69OXRew7v0I&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object> Well, you by "enhanced" they mean the text on the bottom of the screen explaining things. They didn't start doing that until the 4th season (I think) so I don't think an "enhanced" version has been seen before. But the footage should all be the same.
