Hell of a time for the lamp in my HDTV to burn out. I guess I'll have to watch it old school in 4x3. What is the first episode starting at 7 CST all about? Is that a catch-up episode or something?

Same here...it sucks that Lost, the Rockets game, and Kitchen Nightmares, are all running at the same time. My Time Warner DVR only records two shows at a time...I have some big decisions to make come eight o'clock.

also, could have sworn i saw stuff moving backwards in the previews of the new episodes. no time travel jumping in this season...replaced by backwards replays? lol. i'm wondering if that bomb explosion doesn't kick off everything going backwards to a certain point? or, maybe i was just hallucinating? the whole damn show will probably end with hurley being on an acid trip back at his fast food restaurant after winning the lottery. ;)

i would lose the Rockets game. after being a die hard fan for a long time, i barely even watch this season. i'm not captivated by the rockets at all anymore. i guess i need a superstar or two on my team. maybe when yao returns? but, rockets seem to be going downhill after years of blown potential around tmac and yao.

It's not backwards, the bomb went off and their telling the story as if they had landed Ocianic 815.

I was never into the lost series until last October. I got really sick and had the swine flu(yes I know the swine flu) I was browsing instant queue and saw Lost seasons 1 and I just started watching and I got hooked. I watched all 5 seasons before I got home in December. I can't imagine watching this show with commercials and then waiting a week after they leave you on a cliff hanger.

Same for me, I hadn't seen even a minute of the show until about two months ago. I got Netfilix and Lost was the first thing I watched. I was instantly addicted and finished seasons 1-5 in less than 2 weeks, 5 or 6 episodes a day, skipping work(I have my own business, so I can do that ;) ) ...probably the best drama on TV right now.

Here's one of my theories/predictions on this season. This is only a theory, but I'll semi-spoiler it.

The series has always had a narrative device to show off island events and/or split up the story. At first we had the flashbacks. Then the flashforwards, then Oceanic 6 off island vs. those who were left behind and finally, those in 1977 vs those in 2007.

I believe the narrative device used this season will be . . .

Alternate timelines. What happened if Jack's/Faraday's plan worked vs. what happened if it didn't. At some point, these realities will have to merge somehow or else one will be entirely pointless. Or maybe in one alternate reality, if they never crash the world gets destroyed because they were never on the island to stop some yet to be revealed climactic event from happening. I don't know how they'll make it work. Nonetheless, that is what I think they're "flashback" device will be this season. We should know after tonight.

A friend of mine and his wife watched the entire series in 2 1/2 weeks via Netflix about a month ago. Now they're huge Lost fans and walk around wearing Dharma gear. Both of them are self employed private music teachers and they don't start working until 2 in the afternoon so they had the time to waste.

I didn't start watching until the start of Season 2. I quickly bought the Season 1 DVD's and watched them all in 2 or 3 days. Never missed an episode since.

Count me in as another Netflix member who marathoned Lost and is now a fan.

There seem to be two camps of Lost watchers- the folks who love it, and the folks who got their minds blown and gave up. Maybe it's because of the marathoning I did over a month, but I don't think it's that confusing. Am I off here?

Pretty much the same thing my wife said. I can't say that I agree with either of you yet.

Has anybody watched Lost at the Alamo Drafthouse? I want to do it at least once this season.

got a brand new 32" HDTV, exchanged my Cable box for an HD box, transferred my signal, I'm ready for tonight!

been watching all the Dharma orientation videos and the Sri Lanka video from "the Lost Experience" to get prepped...

my 6 week, 5 Season, 100+ hour marathon only ended last week and I can't wait any longer!!

I think the alternate timeline is a good probability for this season's narrative device... I am also looking forward to se how Desmond plays his part in the Destiny of the Island...

It's good - originally it was in standard def and I refused to come back, but it's been High Def for a while, and the diehards there aren't chatty cathies that drive you up the wall (usually). Only downside is the extra pee breaks you might need.

Cannonball, I definitely think that will be an aspect they work in. Too many Back to the Future references last year for it not to be.

I've been a major table-pounder that the Island is a space/time nexus. If you can go in and then get back out to the "real" world (and perhaps displaced in time and/or space)....what if the Island is also a nexus of the Multiverse?

There may have been subtle hints to this over the course of the series:
    Geronimo Jackson
The aborted/revised Nigerean plane radio conversation (there were no survivors on flight 815/we're the survivors of flight 815)
    The Comi-con videos
JJ Abrams has gone with a Multiverse in Fringe, and he is prone to keep his ideas across his various shows
LOST has borrowed heavily from Stephen King over the years, and King also uses a Multiverse in his writing (Dark Tower, most notably)
The general theme of the show: the same people living completely different lives in different circumstances

Thanks to everyone for the great use of spoilers! I can't believe they leaked the first hour intentionally. Hell, EW decided to plop a mild (completely expected but still) spoiler on the cover of their latest issue.

My bold prediction for the season, spoilered:
Hurley will be the new Jacob. Not Jack. Hurley.
He's the only "pure" soul of the characters and the only one without blood on his hands
Jacob gave him the guitar case and was far more involved with him than the others
Locke (literally) passed the torch to him while they, with Ben, were outside not-Jacob's cabin
His unique connection with the souls

The questions I most want to see answered, among those not guaranteed to be addressed:
Why were Cindy and the kids so hunky-dory with the Others in S3 after being kidnapped? What was up with the kids' "zombie march" in S2 (Jin and Eko watching)?
What was up with the whispers in the jungle? Was it Christian and friends chatting while unseen?

Oh well. Just about time for me to go pick up some vodka so I can get hammered watching the show tonight.

Need to watch a recap episode. Forgot 75% of what happened in the season finale.

Cannot wait for one more year!

It's not like they actually released it, right? They premiered the first hour live in Hawaii on Sunday and somebody recorded it on a handi cam and uploaded it to YouTube. ABC couldn't be surprised that it happened though. I heard about it this morning and I guess the surprising part is the number of people who chose NOT to watch it when it went online. There were only 100 or so views on YouTube.

    Flashback on Island's beach:
Jacob and Nemesis have an exchange that reveals them to be opposite figures, especially in their views on man's potential (reminiscent of the Matrix: Oracle versus the Architect). The four toed statue is revealed to be an Egyptian statue and Jacob lives in its foot (weaving tapestry for symbolism). The Black Rock is seen heading towards its Island shipwreck.

    Various flashbacks:
Jacob visits most of the main characters at critical times in their lives, touching them. Does not contact Juliette or Ilana. Has an extended chat with Hugo hours before the Guam flight and gives him the guitar case that Hurley's carried around since.

    1977 Island:
The gang gets together while under the run from Dharma. Jack and Sawyer finally punch each other and settle their girl issues like Zach and AC Slater. The gang hauls over to the drilling station (future site of Swan) to toss the stripped down H-bomb in to "neutralize" the energy pocket before Dharma unleashes it.

Big fight, drill hits pocket, sucking everything metal into it. Juliette gets snagged and slowly sucked in but takes the bomb first so she won't die in vain. Episode ends with her setting the bomb off.

    Present day Island:
Team Ilana march the island with the mystery box and Frank. They stop over at "Jacob's" cabin, and determine that "he" has escaped. They march to the Statue Foot and meet with Richard (revealed to have a Latin name) and reveal to him that the item in the mystery box is Locke's actual dead body.

Earlier, not-Locke had the Others and Sun marching across the island to the Statue foot. He instigates Benry so that once he and not-Locke encounter Jacob within the Foot, Benry goes off the handle and gives Jacob a good Anakin Skywalker/Judas/Brutus stab scene and firepit cremation.

Tonight, we should see where/when Team Bomb ended up and get a first look at the awkward reunion between not-Locke and the Others with Team Ilana.

That's what happened? Sorry - didn't even read the article for fear of idiotic journalism (dropping spoilers). Still surprising they even showed the episode to a limited audience two days in advance. That's just asking for it.
