This is definitely in my top three favorites thus far....

    1. The Constant
    2. Richard-centric episode
    2b) Happily ever after

I just watched The Constant again and my mind is blown.

Widmore is now Desmond's Constant between the two timelines...

I think it is clear that Eloise knows what is happening. Does Charles also know? He did have a picture of a scale with black rocks and white rocks.

This should have been a 2 hour episode! Once things really got going, like when they started revealing how both timelines are existing parallel to each other or when Charlie started saying how nothing mattered, I started thinking to myself, "Damn, it's already been 3 or 4 commercial breaks, show's gonna dramatically end soon."

I'm just glad that there exists some meaning to the Timeline X. Up to this point it all felt like novelty to me, where the writers are just making crap coincidences up for a storyline that doesn't matter to the real events.

I think that the Widmores know. When Eloise confronted him, it's as if they've been keeping surveillance on him for a long time. What better way to keep him in the dark if Charles is making him work all the time.

I was hoping that when Faraday showed Desmond his journal it would show the part where he wrote "If anything happens, Desmond Hume is your constant." I was always curious about that part (and just about every other part) last season.

We're plugged into tha Matrix, brutha!

Desmond goes a perfect 6-for-6 with top tier centric episodes.

Amazing how powerful his love story with Penny is, while the Jack-Kate-Sawyer love triangle is a colossal failure (as in, it's annoying. really annoying. kill Kate, Krazy Klaire. please.)

RedRaiderRocket - we already knew all about the Widmore family tree. That wasn't an omigoshreveal

Personally, I still like The Constant and Flashes Before Your Eyes a little better than last night's. Nothing beats the finish of The Constant. That tore up my Man Card.

Definitely a great episode. I think its official, Desmond is my favorite character by far.

My only disappointment with the episode was that it took about fifteen minutes for us to hear Desmond say "brotha". :p

Now I understand the connection when Desmond would say, "see you in anotha life brutha."

Eh. Desmond wasn't listed as a candidate. And I'm under the impression that the new Jacob has to stay on the island and that would presumably keep Desmond from being with Penny and baby Charlie. So I don't think it will be him. And for the same reason, I don't think it will be Jin or Sun because being the new Jacob would presumably keep them away from Ji Yeon.

his special power (talent) is unique to the Island and the storyline of LOST.

It appears he will be the link between the Alt timeline and the Original Timeline, with a mission on behalf of Original Timeline Widmore.

my question like others here is how much do the Widmores know about the two timelines.

and also, is Desmond's mind now stuck in the Alt timeline? is Widmore the only person he recognizes when he wakes up?

he seemed to be eager to follow Sayid, but I'm not sure he was playing all his cards. I think he is in for the ride, no matter what the mission is, in order for him to find his true love Penny as flashed before him.

I love all the parallels with George the driver, aka the control room operator from the Kahana Freighter.

i still think the show is going to surprise. for example i think sayid will still prove to be ok in the end. meaning i still think he is a good person.

I don't think it was an eagerness but he's just not going to fight what he thinks is fate anymore. Kind of like new age Jack.

What do yall think he's gonna tell the rest of them once he gets the flight manifest (in alt reality)?

Man, you have a great memory. Good call on Flashes Before Your Eyes. Just went back and watched it again and it was another amazing episode.

It looks like the Series Finale event will be 5 hours long. The finale itself will still be 2 hours, but it will be preceded by a 2 hour recap and followed by a 1 hour special hosted by Jimmy Kimmel that will air after the local news.

Sounds good. I usually don't do dumb stuff like this, but I will probably have a viewing party. Maybe we can play a drinking game using the times Desmond says brotha.

Excellent. Does this mean that the finale will be like the premiere where 601 and 602 were both shown? Or is this 2 hour episode actually produced as 1 episode? My main reason for asking is that this would mean one less week to wait for the finale.

I think that technically it's two episodes, a part 1 and a part 2. That's how all the other season finales plus the pilot and Season 6 premiere have been done. I don't really see how it matters if it's one episode or two, both hours will be shown on May 23.
