lol, I was wondering the same thing. who knows what crazy claire did with him. I thought it was a good episode
Couldn't agree more - I see a lot of people complaining that LOST "lost" the character focus in S1 that made it so powerful....well last night stood up to almost anything S1 had to offer. Michael Emerson is simply a top notch actor, as good as you'll find on television. Even Matt Fox's channeling of Locke was impressive. The way the writers are so seamlessly weaving in such a vast ocean of material from S1-5 and in such a nuanced manner is nothing short of brilliant. The beach reunion scene was perfect deja vu from S3's. Miles and Nikki Paulo was great. Arzt cleaning a stain off his shirt was a reversal of Hurley wiping Arzt off his (mentioned by Hurley). Ben "gassing" his dad at home as a reversal of how he gassed him on the island. The genius quadruple parallel of Ben's past actions, his current crossroads, his timeline-X choice, and Napoleon...tell me another show that pulls that off in a single episode. Plausible, but I wouldn't be so quick to say that it's THE gift. They're anointed, and as we've seen with Michael, the Island won't let you die until you've completed your purpose. -Richard received immortality, but I think that gift may not be universal. -Jack seems to be able to "save" folks like Sarah and Charlie that should be past the point of saving. I still hold that he could have saved Boone had he not begged Jack to let him go. -Hurley can speak to the dead (soul) -Miles (listed as a candidate) can speak to the dead (physical body) -Locke was able to commune with the Island -Walt (I'm forcing him on the list) has obvious supernatural powers etc Yep - becoming more certain that Jughead '77 did not blow the Island to kingdom come like an atom bomb should. Seems more like the hatch implosion that took place at the end of S2. We're left with a huge mystery as to the fate of the Island in timeline-X. How so? Anything specific? He wasn't tied up - he's just lame because of the bear trap. He'd have to be carried to travel with Camp Smokey, which may be heading to Hydra. One thing we've still yet to observe - the mystery foggy outrigger that was chasing the time traveling folks. Juliette tagged someone in that boat, and it's got to be someone we know.
Loved the episode last night. Ben is the best character on the show, episodes about him are never a disappointment.
Was the reunion on the beach the first time these characters saw each other since the Ajira time split occured? as for Jin, was he still tied up once Claire stitched his leg? he was introduced to "Claire's friend", so I am assuming he is under the spell of the MIB, setting up a nice battle of the Kwons. we still don't know which one is a candidate according to Ilana. I was very pleased with last night's episode. I loved all the "What If?" questions posed by the many characters who ended up on the Island. the Island will get you in the end... that's what I thought would happen to Timeline X characters, but as the season continues, it seems to be a representation of MIB's world... how is the production not as good as previous episodes? like production value? storyline? characters? I don't know any other show where the Creators/Producers (Lindelof & Cuse) are almost as famous as the stars themselves.
I really loved the ep. I was getting all emotional towards the end, and my friend completely ruined it by saying, "I'm not sure this ep deserved an instrumental slomo ending, or like this event. I would rather have dialogue." Really? STFU.
I'm not ready to declare Sawyer, Kate, or Jin Smokey's property. I strongly suspect Sawyer above the rest to pull a fast one on NotLocke. Linking a uber-mild spoiler link. Emerson talking about the show and giving some information about the next 8 episodes, but in the vaguest possible terms Spoiler http://tvwatch.people.com/2010/03/10/lost-michael-emerson-breaks-down-dr-linus/
Man I don't think I can live with myself if I start feeling bad for Ben's character. He's been going strong on being so deplorable, and I remember hating the guy he played on The Practice a long time ago too. It seems everyone should be on the fence if Linus is, since Jacob supposedly still thought he could be saved. I just don't get the game/contest factor of it all. Jacob (before the stabbing) could have just told him to have faith or something but instead just goads him into a rage I'm guessing just to test him more.
This is hilarious. http://tv.gawker.com/5484612/ Ben in a prison instructional video from way back. They compare his techniques to those on the island, strangely the same guy.
Alex cleans up pretty well. So with all this craziness going on the old guy and his african american wife are just chilling on the the island?
You'd think - they had just been chilling in a TeePee with Vincent from 1974-1977 and openly said they were done with all the drama. It would make logical sense that they would have been sent back to the present with everyone else following Jughead, but who knows? They very well could be Adam and Eve. Evan
Spoiler The countdown to the end continues - We have 9 new episodes until the series finale! Tonight at 9|8c on ABC, Flocke tasks Sawyer with some "Recon" and you'll see a favorite return -- who is she and what brings her back into the picture?
Boring episode, nothing actually happened really. Next week's episode though is pretty much guaranteed to be great.
2 things about the alternate timeline. 1) Liam, Charlie's brother, was at the police station looking for Charlie 2) If James is a cop, how come he didn't do anything when he saw Kate wearing handcuffs in the airport?
I'm pretty sure everyone in America was thinking the same thing. It's not so black and white. If he is a cop, why would he be in the midst of a vengeful man-hunt?
