I think they said that Sayid was in medical standards dead. They didn't bring Juliet because it was Hugo's idea to bring Sayid who wasnt dead yet to the temple. They had no clue what would happen there, and if I was Sawyer probably would not listen to Hugo anyways. Give me a dang Desmond episode this week ABC!
Let us pray. Here's an interesting post on some possible implications of the "sickness" from the forums @ Lostpedia :
When? In the courtyard, when Hurley asks what the note says, they say it says that "if your friend dies, we're all in a lot of trouble." They put him in the pool and he starts flopping around and everyone gets upset because he's drowning. It wasn't until after he stopped flopping around that they pull him out, lay him down, and the guy with glasses said "You're friend is dead". There was no inference that Sayid was already dead when they put him in the pool.
Yeah I was mistaken in commenting about the last part of your quote where you said they didn't say that Sayid was officially dead. I think I misread it meaning didn't say he was dead at all before or after the pool. I posted that to affirm your comment about why they didnt take Juliet to the pool. Show's too confusing if they're going to start resurrecting people. It's as convoluted as a comic book now.
I seriously am in Season 1 mode....no F'in idea what is happening at all, and I love it. I havent hated commercials this much since I found out about Bikini Destinations on HD Net.
So, some of the losties equals one of the numbers. Hurley = 8. I saw Claire's name and Sayid's name. Sayid may have been 16. I'll have to go back and see their number later. Edit: Sun/Jin is 42, Jack = 23, Sayid = 16, 4 = Locke, Sawyer = 15.
I'm not sure. I saw Claire's name, but it was crossed out, maybe because she's now "infected". Maybe Kate was never a candidate or she was eliminated from being in contention for some reason. Regardless, whatever number was next to her name, it wasn't part of the "numbers". Also, remember that Ilana's group thought Lapidus could be a candidate. Not sure how that ties in though. I'm going to have to watch this episode (at least the end) again tomorrow on Hulu.
I am wondering what Flocke means when he said he used to be human...so how the heck did he become a smoke demon?
Not sure, but if a human can take over Jacob's job, it stands to reason that a human can take over Smokey's job too.
Could it be that there are many forms through history that Jacob and Smokey over the centuries have taken? Possibly the ashes of the "old body" of Jacob becomes the dust that Smokey can not pass...if thats the case can it be said that Jacob has died many times?
This episode was much better than last weeks. Locke's episodes are always the best so its no surprise. Both the off-island stuff and the on-island stuff was riveting. I think Jacob is still alive. Remember, Smokey can't kill Jacob, but he pushed him into the fire while Jacob was still breathing. That's what the little boy meant, smokey can't kill him. So Smokey still broke the rules.
I thought the complete opposite. Last week was nothing special, but I thought this week was one of the most boring episodes in the past few years. I think Locke is the least interesting character on the Island
duh.... I just realized as far as the numbers go 4 - Locke 8 - Hurley 15 - Sawyer 16 - Sayid 23 - Jack 42 - Sun/Jin those are the numbers from that sequence
