Edit^ Imo, these are the reasons that the episode seemed "fillerish", there weren't any meat and potatoes plot resolutions.
see above it probably wasnt the worst episode for the show (for me its still the random story of the couple that was buried alive) but it was one of the worst episodes of recent seasons. maybe it would have been better well received if it was like episode 6 or 7 of this season but not in the 2nd week of airing when everyone is just waiting for new info. in general they better somehow tie in the alternate reality otherwise i think it may just be a nice way of getting to know some of the characters but mainly a waste of time
Personally, I thought the episode was more setup for Claire than Kate. Kate was involved, but more of a medium to re-introduce Claire into the plot. I'd say it's a more Claire-centric episode, really.
No doubt about Sayid in the torture scene. Sayid ain't no b****. He can take what you throw at him with a grin on his face. Definitely wasn't Sayid crying like a baby in that scene. I also do believe Sawyer has turned gay and will be caught doing it with Jack in the end. Kate will be stuck watching. Locke's corpse may be involved...I'm not sure. And, I predict Sayid will be wearing a dress before it is all over. Some strange twists await us indeed.
Sayid did seem very wussified to me also. I don't remember how he responded to physical pain previously, but he handled the death of Shannon in his established stoic self. Here he's wincing and cowering, his voice is wavering, and he handles the pain surprisingly un-Sayid like. Maybe I'm trying to read too much into it because I don't know if Sayid's possessed or not. He does seem normal afterward; analytical and calm. His talk with Jack was a pretty good scene. Doesn't make up for the episode though.
Hurley gets stuck alone on the island for all eternity with Claire. He kills her and eats her. That's my prediction and I expect you all to hold me to it!
Hurley gets stuck alone on the island for all eternity with Claire. He finally finishes the job that the weak Charlie never could.(bangalangdangs her) They re-populate the island with a bunch of over-eating blonde babies. That's my prediction and I expect you all to hold me to it.
That's okay you can both argue with me all you want! So is LOST going to be on Tuesday nights for good now? Because i can just tell you.. my DVR was going into hyperdrive trying to record everything on Tuesday night. I had a UK game, a Rockets game, NCIS, LOST etc etc! It was conflict city, baby!
I had to strategically record on multiple tvs. LOST and the Rockets on one... NCIS and UK on the other. Though at 9pm I stopped taping the Rockets game because it was complete crap and flipped back and forth between it and the UK game.
Yeah, during the season premiere, I had LOST, Kitchen Nightmares, and a Rockets game. DVR hell, I'm telling you man, it's tough out there.
I was wondering the whole episode. Why don't they grab Juliet's body and put her in the fountain? It can't hurt to try.
It probably doesn't work if you're already dead, just if you're injured but still alive. Sayid was still alive when they put him in the pool.
random: isn't it feasible, taking away the whole sunken island part, that those who landed in 2004 could still end up on the Island in 2007/2008? our two storylines are now separated by 3 years, no? and what happens when the Island is "moved"? is the location moved or is it through time and space?
Don't want to read any posts in here because I've already noticed a lot of spoilers, but I just got through season 1 on netflix and man this show is addictive. Trying to catch up before it's over.
