Sorry, Sayid is a bad ass. I love his episodes and last night was no exception. You are crazy man, crazy I say!
I think maybe because there's a plot unfolding off the island now. Personally, this season has been incredible - I hate waiting a week for the next episode! I don't see it as jumping the shark - as say Nip/Tuck did. I can't even watch that show anymore.
Well I was thinking long and hard about that Spoiler The only saving grace is that Ben asked Sayid something about if he wanted to keep his friends safe or not. So it would seem like some people are still stuck on the island, and that Ben is in control there, and the survivors that stayed behind are in jeopardy unless Sayid does the work for Ben. That could also add to the reason why in the finale from last season Jack was talking to Kate about wanting to go back to the island.
I'm with you on this one. Some element seems to be missing - not sure what it is..... I think the acting is slipping this season too: Ben is an annoying ragdoll. Locke has lost his edge. Sawyer is turning into a puss. So far I haven't been totally "wowed" by the episodes. Season 3 was amazing, and will be hard to top. That being said, like you MadMax, Im too addicted to quit.
I'm a fan that has lost interest in the show. Maybe I just wasn't paying attention, but I still have very few to no questions answered from the first season. I don't feel like watching a whole episode that really doesn't tell me much, and I don't feel like waiting for 3 more seasons to get all the answers.
thats kind of what I've been thinking all along as well, last nites episode seemed to strenghten that, I mean why else would Sayid do what he did in the flash forwards Oh course the real question now becomes who's the Not econimist
I really think the Rocket was there to show us "Time Refraction" The producers have hinted about time for a while now, and have even mentioned that time on the Island may not run like time on Earth. With Refraction, light (EM) "bends" as it goes from one medium (say, air) and into another (say, glass or water). It's angle dependent, and why my GI Joes looked all weird when I played with them in the tub as a kid. So say the island does the same sort of thing. Faraday last week talked about how light scatters differently, and the Rocket "slipping" in time as it went from one medium (Earth) into another (the Island). In refraction, if the light goes the way it came, it will "rebend" and exit on the same path as it entered. I think that's precisely way Faraday urged them to follow the same bearing/path. If they don't, the angle changes, they "bend" differently, and time slip. The bigger the angle change, the bigger the time slip. I think this also opens the door for future Jack & Kate to come back to the island, but if following a different path, could crash LONG before the original Oceanic landing. All speculation on my part, of course. Evan
MadMax has spent too much time cuddling with his Roger Clemens bobblehead doll. I thought last night's episode was awesome. I really want to know who they're after now.
I guess I'm the opposite because I can't remember very many questions from season one that haven't been answered (the hatch, the polar bear, who was on the radio with Boone, where's Bernard, how did Locke end up in a wheelchair, some of what the deal was with the distress call, who those dudes who took Walt are, etc.) Every time a question has been partially answered, a new question emerges. But I think it's a bad rap on the show to say that questions that were raised haven't been answered. Questions are answered all the time. Personally, though, I enjoy the ride. I like the twists and turns and enjoy the wondering. It makes it easier knowing that there's an ending coming at some point, but even if the ending ends up being Bob Hartley waking up next to his wife talking about the crazy dream he just had, I've still enjoyed the ride. Which could end up making them the Adam and Eve skeletons they found in the caves, I suppose (which would be a bit too much like that horrible movie "Timeline" for my tastes, but, you know.......)
Spoiler So I guess Sayid is going after the main people who faked the location of the airplane crash. I think these people are in charge of the Freighties. For whatever reasons, the 4 freighties knew that it wasn't the real plane down the trench so maybe that's why they were sought out. "You want to know what's going on, help us do this and we'll tell you etc." Since these people wanted Ben dead, now he's getting his revenge on them and using Sayid.
I know how you feel.. Spoiler IMO its because we are finding out that more and more people got off the island in the flash fowards with sayid now, and the plot is shifting away from being lost on a mysterious island to something deeper and more complicated, but you can not deny that season 4 has been suspenseful episode after episode. If they can sustain this for 3 more seasons now that they have a defined period to finish the series, this could go down as one of the best shows in history. This is about who could be working for ben on the ship.... Spoiler Anybody else positive it has to be Michael? Because thinking back to season 2 when michael and walt left ben told michael to follow some bearing and he would run into a ship. How did ben know that a ship was going to be there? I believe because it was all setup by him.
Spoiler Yes, Sayid is getting his revenge too because they were the ones that wronged him and his friends. The first guy that Sayid killed was about to crap himself when he found out who he was. Also, Sayid looked like he took pleasure in doing it. I think if Sayid kills all of these men then Ben will tell Sayid how to get back to the Island and rescue them. Ben is a snake but he will keep his word if someone helps him out by killing the people that are after him.
I'm loving this season thus far. I think the first 3 episodes are a really strong run. Every moment is packed some kind of importance to the plot while also raising questions. I would be amazed if they kept up this pace all season.
Spoiler Not to mention that Harold Perrineau has been in the credits for every episode so far this season, which certainly implies that he's coming back somehow. Makes sense it would be on the Freighter.
