I think this is the result of the last negotiations between the producers and ABC. ABC obviously wanted more shows. The producers wanted a finite ending point to focus towards. The result was 3 more 16 episode season with the promise less "filler" episodes and more moving the story along. Hopefully that's exactly what is happening. Less dragging things out so the network can make more money and more of progressing the storyline.
Can someone explain to me what happened at the end. My DVR didn't record the last minute of the show.
very interesting episode full of lots of questions. I get the feeling that the island is in some sort of temporal flux, exist in the past somehow but is still connected to the future, hence the polar bear with the dharma tag
Spoiler Jacks group is talking about how they have to leave Naomi on the island because the helicopter is low on fuel and they need to conserve weight. Juliet is attending to the pilot and he asks her name. She tells him. He's studied the manifest and realizes she wasn't on the plane, that she's a native. He tell asian ghost hunter who gets pissed and produces a picture of Ben. Ben is the real reason they came to the island and he wants to know where he is. Back at Locke's group. Sawyer is about to execute Ben for stealing the gun and shoothing the chick anthropologist but Locke says it's his mess and he'll take care of it. Ben starts talking about how he has answers. Locke asks him about the smoke monster, what it is. Ben doesn't know. Locke is about to pull the trigger when Ben starts giving all these details about the new arrival. Date of birth, where she went to school, etc . . . He says he knows what they're doing here and that they came for him. Locke asks him how he knows all this. Ben reveals that it's because he has a man on their boat. LOST
Spoiler the man on their boat I assume is jacob since it seems that he was being held there against his will...thats why Locke heard him say Help Me in the season finale last season...I think...Jacob in general is still a mystery as to who/what he is. I can see why the "rescuers" have a vested interest in him. Its interesting how Ben was still able to get all this information about at least Charlotte (assuming he knows the other peoples as well) Ben has to have a secret dharma station where he has contact with the civilization that no one else on the island knows. the man who employed naomi to get ben is one scary man. and looks like is part of a organization powerful enough to pull of a hoax of a plane crash. oh and has anyone called the 888 oceanic number? i am sure its probably a real line that ABC set up i think the number was 888-548-0034 but not sure i recorded it I can check when I get home tonight.
Ohh I see now.. Spoiler The rescue group is related to the Dharma group because they showed that girl at the dig site getting dharma collar. Which could also explain why they want Ben since he killed the dharma people.
That's kind of what I'm thinking. Spoiler That maybe the Hanso Foundation is coming back to reclaim the island.
Spoiler Biggest question to come out of the episode for me was Charlotte finding a Dharma Polar Bear in some desert in Africa. I can't recall if they mentioned how old the bear's bones were? I'm assuming it hasn't been there that long, because otherwise there is something really funny going on. It was definitely a modern looking collar the bear was wearing. Anyone have any guesses to this latest mystery? If nothing else we at least know Charlotte knows about Dharma which gives credibility to the "island reclamation" theory.
Don't read this if you don't want any clues about who the next member is. Spoiler It's definitely a Sayid episode next week, so it's quite possible he's one of the Oceanic 6.
