Pretty awesome episode. 1)The island (via Richard and Abaddon) has been keeping an eye on Locke his entire life. Abaddon steered Locke towards the walkabout. Seems like it was his fate to go to the island and the purpose of the crash may have only been to get Locke there. 2)A few episodes ago, we saw Ben manipulate Sayid into being his henchman by telling him to walk away. In this episode Locke got Hurley to stay by telling him to go back to the beach camp. 3)Time travel reappears. The doctor was killed after Morse code message was sent. I guess the body drifted in on a different heading and went back in time a few hours. 3)Claire is hanging out with her dad and seems pretty cool about everything. Christian said Aaron was where he was supposed to be and she didn't seem to mind that that wasn't with her. 4)Move the island. The preview for next week looks really good too. They were really hyping it up.
Seriously. I'm preparing to have this be my reaction (NSFW language): <object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/1op3ZoNeflc&hl=en"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/1op3ZoNeflc&hl=en" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object>
It was good this week. I loved the Claire thing.. since we already knew she was going to be "LOST" from our flash-forwards it was great to see her with Christian. Is anyone else wondering if Jack is going to find out who Locke talked to?? OH and how much did I love the Locke back story this week!!! I am excited to see next week. I am guessing it is the season finale. But what a way to end it!
I think next week is the first part of a 3 part finale. There will be episodes on the 15th and 29th with the 29th episode being 2 hours. That 2 weeks in between is going to suck.
ooh good to know. I didn't know there was going to be three more hours of episodes. Thanks for the info.
what really struck me about the episode was when abaddon is wheeling locke to his room, he asks him if he believes in miracles. i remember after the plane crash locke sits with walt and tells him a miracle happened today. makes me wonder if abaddon could be walt.
No, Claire might not be dead.. she is LOST. Sawyer woke up and she was gone, but found the baby. It's entirely possible that she is alive sitting in that cabin. Though the way she was portrayed is a wee bit odd. My theory is that she is still alive, but something happened.. a vision or whatever that said she had to let Aaron go. Hurley however gets this visit from a dead Charlie saying that Jack shouldn't be raising the kid and that they need to go back to the island. Remember, Claire's psychic way back at the beginning said that SHE had to raise the baby. No one else. That's why he put her on the plane. The depth of this show continues to bemuse me, I almost feel like I need to go back and watch the first couple of seasons again, knowing what we know now... just to catch all the little tidbits that might give me a clue.
When the helicopter flew over the survivors on the beach and dropped the backpack with the satellite phone, how are we suppose to interpret that? Was that the pilot who dropped the backpack? It appear he was secretly turning it on and wrapping it in something before the copter took off from the boat. If so, then how does it just drop from the helicopter to the survivors and not raise suspicion among those military guys he is transporting? I assume the pilot did that to let the survivors know where to find these military guys...probably so they can deal with them before they kill everybody. I guess the pilot isn't too concerned about everyone dying because he still is looking to save his own skin. Or, else, he could have just flown the copter into the ground or ocean to kill those guys on board. I guess that would be too easy an outcome.
Really? Good catch...So, maybe a dumb question but isn't Christian Jack's father, or is it someone else that looks like him? So that makes them family? I may be off... Pretty interesting how the island was keeping tabs on John his entire life...John coming into his own...Move the island? come the f' on... I don't get how the pilot threw the sat phone...Unless there was a note, wouldn't jack and crew follow the signal thus heading straight for danger? The Dr. dying after he's received the morse code was kind of weird... One of the best shows on TV...can't wait...
I assumed it was the pilot that dropped the pack, to be honest when it was first dropped I thought it was a bomb. Thought the flashback with Locke were great, wonder what the correct answer to that test he was given was and why Mr Ageless reacted so badly when he picked the wrong thing.
I'm personally confused as to why he wants them to follow. That would be a death trap, given the ordinance Team Freighter is carrying. Maybe it's more to allow them to keep away and Jack has it wrong? Maybe there's something else up Frank's sleeve? Agreed that he should have just crashed the copter. Evan
It's my take that Richard leads the "Natives" in a quest to fulfill a prophecy that a Messiah will come to the Island to restore its harmony and preserve it from exploiters like Dharma. Locke and Benry seem to be two close candidates, but neither being the real answer. Benry helped them massacre Dharma, was able to commune with Jacob (the Island's soul?), but he started inserting his own agenda and fell out of favor (the tumor, loss of rapport with Jacob). Locke might be a John the Baptist type in the equation - the guy that will set up the prophecy fulfillment. I think he was "supposed" to take the Book of Laws instead of the knife. It was a reincarnation test. When Eko showed John the film he found stashed in the bible, he made mention of Josiah restoring the Temple of Solomon with the Book of Laws. I'm wondering if it's Hurley or Walt who is the real chosen one to run the island and "restore the Temple" Evan
Yes Christian is Jack's father. Claire was the illegitimate child that he went to Australia to see before he died. Claire and Jack are half brother and sister. They revealed that last season I think it was. As to the test that John got wrong. I think that it was the book as well. The comic has to have been Walt's. The knife's previous owner is questionable. Though I knew Locke was going to pick it up. We all remember how much Locke loves his knife collection. I thought the tie in with "Don't tell me what I can't do" in the high school scene was very good. I am just in love with these writers. They are very good at making the unbelievable seem believable. And how about Locke, the child, drawing a picture of the smoke monster!!
as average as the episode 2 weeks ago was, last nights episode was freaking amazing I loved every bit of it. and the build up for next weeks is even more exciting. Its a shame that the show is being cut a bit short because of the strike. oh quick question about richard: Spoiler have they explained exactly why he hasnt aged one bit at all? from the time of Locke's birth to when he was on the island and gave Locke the file on his father and implying to have Sawyer kill his father instead I cant wait for next week one of the most innovative and well written shows I have ever seen
Why didn't the military guys make the pilot land the chopper on the beach so they could blast everyone? They could be seen by the pilot, so they could be seen by the military guys. Doesn't make sense to me.
I thought it had to do with personality. The Book was a law book which stands for order and right. The knife could be seen as violence and disorder. but that is just my idea.
they are mercenaries who probably had one objective of getting to Ben or somewhere else on the island to destroy it. They dont care about the people on the beach and can always kill them later. I mean they are trained soldiers with guns and other weapons going against civilians with a few guns, not really a threat. Surprised Faraday didnt tell them the Sat phone was a way to track them or stay away from them. I wonder if Keame heard the other guy telling the Doctor that his throat was slit and he was found dead on the island. has anyone figured out if the island is ahead in time by any certain amount? it mean it took about a day on the island for sayid and desmond to reach the boat right? even though it was like only 60 minutes real time? then the doctors body looked pretty decayed when it showed up on the island. also the homing missle that was launched took a few minutes longer. it doesnt seem consistent the time flux
I thought that Locke chose the correct item. Alpert (Ageless) just pretended he chose wrong and stormed out. The test was probably to see if they should keep an eye on him throughout his life or not.
