Unique concept of time travel. But does the statement in Daniel's notebook mean you can change the future?
Absolutely - it's what "unhinged his time." Remember the EM "bomb" that went off when he turned the key in the hatch? I think that exposed him to the same EM "radiation" that Faraday hit the rat with. Nice episode. Anyone catch the 'Back to the Future' vibe they went for at Oxford? 'Kahama' written all over the freighter - another African reference (Tanzania) Evan
yeah because it doesn't appear that Daniel had that written in his notebook before hand. Time here seems to be fluid. Had an idea that the island was in some sort of temporal flux, neither in or out of time, hence the polar bear at the historic dig a few episodes ago. Really enjoyed this episode, thought it was pretty riveting
I think it's got to do with parallel universes. Penny doesn't remember now that Desmond asked her for her number in 1996. Then again the note in Daniel's notebook is pretty random. He can't have met Desmond 8 years back.
Holy crap, that was an awesome ep. Almost movie quality-like. You guys need to read EW.com's coverage of Lost. Jeff "Doc" Jensen posts some awesome theories in his articles. Here's his latest one:
so did anyone else immediately think "michael" when minkowski referenced having a friend on board who opened up the door that was supposed to be locked?
Mad props to Damon Lindelof & Carlton Cuse......just about all of the episodes this season have been top-notch. Thought-provoking and razor sharp, especially tonight (felt like a LSD trip there for awhile?!?) For those that gave up on this show a few seasons ago, wow, are they missing something.
i thought we might have seen him this episode, but looking on imdb Spoiler he won't appear until the 9th episode of this season also, kevin durand, one of the guys who was on the boat, played tucker in 3:10 to yuma.
Where did you hear that? Last I read from one of the producers' interviews, they said they planned on having all 16 episodes as initially planned in the season. They just didn't know if they'd have to take a couple week break somewhere in the middle.
That episode was amazing. Seriously, since the season finale last year until this week, I am consistently impressed. Definitely makes up for the dreadful "Jack in a tank/ Sawyer and Kate in cages" crap we had to endure for 5 weeks last season.
Man, I love Desmond's character and Penelope is freaking hot, so this was one of my favorite episodes. That phone call between them was pretty touching. Desmond's been without contact with the ones he loves even longer than the Oceanic 815 Losties, so it was even bigger for him. Here's what I don't understand. Clearly there is an element of time travel involved here, whether it to the actual past or another dimension where that past was a possibility that never "happened." But didn't the Lost writers and creators come out at some point during season 3 and emphatically say that there was NO time travel in Lost? Or perhaps I am mistaken.
I think they emphatically wrote off all the theories about the Island being a stage of the afterlife.
Easily the lowest point of the series. Prompted ABC to bring in the show creators and lay down the law. They straightened things out nicely. I don't remember that - they've been coyly nodding to the idea of time playing a role both on and off the show for a while. Remember Sayid and Hurley on the beach with the handheld radio? Sayid picks up a music transmission and wonders where it's coming from. Hurley wonders "when" it's coming from. Evan
