The man's face in the picture is too thin to be the same person as the actor that played Locke's dad.
{POSSIBLY MAJOR SPOILER} ok, so if you go to www.mrclucks.com (the chicken place where Hurley worked), you'll get a cartoon of a chicken. but wait a bit and you'll get something that flashes for about a fraction of a second. i caught the message right when it flashed and saved it. now is it me, or does that one line up at the top say "jack will die"? here's the pic:
More stuff on there now... Hey Cluck.. Thanks for letting us take over your site. We are done.. for now... But here is something to keep your customers busy. A word jumble: JACK WILL DI- --- ---- -- --- -----! PSHISEOTINEOHCTNEA Plus an audio file. I think it is a podcast of a LOST fan site. EDIT: (Jack will die the ship is not ocean?)
That picture doesn't count for anything because it was part of Hurley's dream - a real messed up dream. You had Jin speaking english and some guy in a chicken suit standing next to him in the bunker. The picture of Walt on the carton is just another messed up part of the dream. Man, each week brings more and more questions; we'll never have them all answered.
Speaking of Kate... It can never be said too many times how HOT Evangeline Lilly is. She's hot! http://www.lost-tv.nl/Wallpapers/Evangeline_Lilly4.jpg
I just saw the episode (4). What's the significance of the wine bottle with the notes? Do we know yet? I've missed many episodes from last season....
The bottle was filled with things they wrote and they sent it off on the raft with those 3 dudes and the kid.(IIRC) It means those three ladies think the people who left on the raft are dead.
It's gone now... BUT there is a thing with external links. This is one of them. http://bigspaceship1.com/ The site has a picture of our good buddy the polar bear and a whiring mechanical sound. At the top is a set of dots and dashes. .. -. / --. .. .-. ..- -- / .. -- ..- ... / -. --- -.-. - . / . - / -.-. --- -. ... ..- -- .. -- ..- .-. / .. --. -. .. That translates to: IN GIRUM IMUS NOCTE ET CONSUMIMUR IGNI EDIT: GOT it. In girum imus nocte et consumimur igni. This sentence is a riddle in the form of a palindrome -- literally a puzzle inside a puzzle. This particular sentence is called "the devil's verse", see http://www.archimedes-lab.org/atelier.html?http://www.archimedes-lab.org/latin.html for more Latin puzzles. For the Latin quote of the week, see http://www.dogtulosba.com/archives/cat_quidquid_latine_dictum_sit_altum_viditur.html For Latin sayings, see http://www.rktekt.com/ck/LatSayings.html For handy Latin phrases, see http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/A218882 For more palindromes, see http://villemin.gerard.free.fr/Langue/Palindro.htm You can search for translations on Google http://www.google.com although most of the hits will be for an orchestral composition with that name. Almost every translation is different. The sentence is difficult to translate because the anonymous Roman author had to use words in uncommon senses in order to make a palindrome. Yet, given that the palindrome is a riddle, it is easy to pick out bad translations. The answer is a kind of animal. The animal in question has feet but walking is not its best known mode of transportation. Thus, any translation containing the word "walk" is immediately wrong. People who haven't studied Latin should still be able to pick out the words "night", "consume" and "fire", which could make them think that the sentence has some sort of dark, evil meaning. Interestingly enough, nox and ignis are both third declension i*stem nouns. nocte is ablative, and igni is dative, which I think are both the correct cases for their usages. Ablative case marks a location. Dative case marks an indirect object (or the agent of a passive construction). in means "in", and et means "and". imus means "we go". It is the first*person plural present indicative form of the verb ire "to go". girum is hard to translate. It can be taken as the accusative singular form of the noun girus, but the catch is that girus was not a commonly used word in classic Latin. gyrus is a second declension masculine noun meaning circle, cycle, ring, orbit, or course. The derived giro in Italian means tour, turn, or circle. Spanish splits the meanings into gira for tour and giro for turn. ("Sunflower" in Spanish is girasol.) Since in followed by the accusative means "into", the desired meaning of girum is probably "circle". Putting it together so far, in girum imus nocte means "we go into the circle by night". consumimur is a first*person plural present passive form, so consumimur igni means "we are consumed by fire". "IN GIRUM IMUS NOCTE ET CONSUMIMUR IGNI" This famous maccaronic verse, called "the devil's verse", is a riddle in the form of a palindrome - literally a puzzle inside a puzzle... It means "we wander in the night, and are consumed by fire" or "we enter the circle after dark and are consumed by fire" and is said to describe the movement of months. Some others believe that it is about the 'mayfly', that insect that circles the fire only to be consumed by flame.
BTW, I just wanted to say that this show is completely F**KED UP in a good way. I remember the first season of the MOLE? There were hidden clues through out the entire season and most of them were really hidden well enough to not be obvious. (The other seasons of the MOLE BTW were complete crap.) That's what this is likely only turned on its ear and shifted into 6th gear. The writers of LOST are throwing people for a serious loop. The theories site has 53 pages on the big spaceship website alone! The images and songs in the background have apparently been changing on a daily basis along with the morse code on top. Trying to track down clues from this TV show could be a full time job for a legion of people.
I figured it out. They in the Matrix Like a game. . it uses reoccuring characters [the managers] and is never truly random provides character to push you in the area you want them too [Desmond] Rocket River
Went over to another official site of LOST. And found some puzzels etc. (and solved some) This is quite an interactive site. http://www.fly-oceanic.com/seatingchart.htm
Damn you Merry!!! http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/9546095/ “Lost” co-stars Evangeline Lilly and Dominic Monaghan, who are a couple in real life, may be heading down the aisle soon. The couple was spotted checking out engagement rings at posh jewelry on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills, according to In Touch Weekly. The mag reports that the couple was looking at rocks “in the $50,000” range.
Dude, I just foud this on youtube.com http://youtube.com/watch.php?v=TiQ77cjYN04&search=LOST I didn't notice it when I watched the show. I just got season 1 and re watched that scene and that was infact in the original version of the movie. It wasn't tampered with!
Question for those able to re-watch Episode 1 Season 2: While on the damaged raft, Sawyer & Michael have a close call w/a shark. Does the shark have the DHARMA Center's/ Hanso Foundtion's symbol (Swan in a ying-uang design) branded on its fin?
